87% want tax increases

Austerity or Stimulus? Americans Want BOTH, Survey Says | Daily Ticker - Yahoo! Finance

Here are some of the findings of the survey, courtesy of Politico's Morning Money:
•81% of respondents say the national debt is a major problem that must be addressed now.
•86% of respondents agree reducing the deficit would help the economy.
•87% of respondents believe that to solve the long-term debt problem, Republicans will have to agree to some tax increases and Democrats will have to agree to some spending cuts..
•53% of respondents would be more likely to support a candidate for Congress if they knew that the candidate supported a bipartisan agreement that included both spending cuts and tax increases.
•76% of middle class voters believe that the middle class should contribute to the solution.

you guys need to accept information given you with some kind of class

That doesn't say they want their taxes raised, just that they believe they should help with the solution.

So you are suggesting those people meant what by answering that question that way?

(In best TM voice)... LAIR!

As long as they cut the other guy's handouts and tax somebody else.

That is what negotiating is for. Unfortunately, anyone who is on the fringe does not want to do that, and those who seem to currently hold the most power and influence are on the fringes.

Anyone who wants their taxes raised can simply stop itemizing. They can stop taking deductions. That's why things like these pleas to raise taxes are senseless. What are they saying "Stop me before I take advantage of deductions"?

During a period of stagnant growth, inflation, massive deficits, $4+ gas... nearly 90% of Americans want less disposable income?

That's fucking retarded.

It was a poll on taxes and spending cuts.

What spending cuts are targeted at the middle class?

Interesting poll and interpretation, unfortunately if it looks and smells like bullshit it is. Must be a full moon.

This is the actual response you dishonest little fuck:

87% of respondents believe that to solve the long-term debt problem, Republicans will have to agree to some tax increases and Democrats will have to agree to some spending cuts..

I'm not one of the ones who wants to pay more taxes. For anything. Ever.

So you are suggesting those people meant what by answering that question that way?

They are willing to pay taxes to help reduce the debt. When these questions are worded for the polls, they are very specific in the questions being asked.
The answer has to be just as specific and not go beyond the scope of the given answer.

The democrats have NEVER said they will acdept NO cuts.

The tea party republicans have said they will accept NO tax increases

As long as they cut the other guy's handouts and tax somebody else.

At least we can agree on this.

Who cares about some shitty poll, oh I know, TM DOES!

How about that same poll asks, would you support an unavoidable 15% tax increase to help pay down the deficit??? Watch as that 87% turns into 2-3%.

They they find that 2-3% of the people in the poll pay no taxes and have no job so oddly they support others being taxed more.

I'm not one of the ones who wants to pay more taxes. For anything. Ever.

I'm with you sister.. As long as the IRS can't stop 4.2 billlion dollars of tax money from going to illegals there is no fucking point in raising taxes on AMERICANS.

Americans making more than 1 million dollars should pay more in taxes to help reduce the national debt...........................................................................................................................

77% said yes
