I don’t think we even consider them anymore. They’ve just disappeared into the wind.

1. Memorize a phone number

2. Use a phone book to find a company to do work around your house

3. Sell your car with a cardboard sign stuck on the windshield

4. Figure out math in your head

5. Call and ask a family member, “Where are you?”

6. Tell time by hands on a clock

7. Make photo albums

8. Have a CD or record collection

9. Make mixtapes

10. Call a theater to get movie times

11. Record your favorite programs on tape

12. Watch shows when they are broadcast live

13. Run to the store for a last minute gift

14. Cut things out of the newspaper [I haven’t even seen a newspaper in years!]

15. Send a handwritten letter

16. Looking up the spelling of words in the dictionary

17. Use a phone booth to make a call [Can anyone tell me when they last saw one?]

18. Carry cash [I live in Vegas]

19. Use a travel agent

20. Getting your old checks back from the bank every month [I don’t even know where my checkbook is]

All sorts of links and stuff @ 20 everyday tasks that nobody does anymore

 Good list! It seems like all of those things on it that we don't do anymore, all took place in the past 20 years only!

18. I always carry some cash on my for backup. Appreciable amounts, only when I travel overseas.

4. Figure out math in your head

I am an Engineer that took tons of advanced math courses in school and used math in my career.

Nowadays I find myself using a calculator to even add up simple numbers rather than doing it in my head.

The same way with spelling. I am lazy spelling things correctly. I just type in something close to a word and spell check corrects it for me.

Remember when people changed their own oil in their cars. A few years ago someone rode by while I was under my rruck changing oil and replacing the oil filter and called police about "a man which had been run over in his driveway". A cop showed up with lights and siren before I had even put on the new filter.

:rofl::rofl:

I will never get rid of my CD and record collection. No can do.
I use to have an extensive cassette tape collection. But they deteriorate and sounded terrible... but then came the God app for music...NAPSTER.
Before it all went down I had collected 2400 + songs.
Still have them all today

I still do 1 occasionally, I see people doing 3, I do 4, 6, I actually just sold my CDs a few days ago (8), I watch sports live (12), I have done 13 plenty of times, I do 16 if using an online dictionary counts , I carry cash (18).

I live in Florida. You see them all-except the phone booth and book.

6. Tell time by hands on a clock
I was recently tutoring a CNA student. Her second lesson, she came in a panic, had to learn how to tell time on a clock with hands.
I nearly fainted.

The same way with spelling. I am lazy spelling things correctly. I just type in something close to a word and spell check corrects it for me.

When I started college, I used a slide rule. Calculators were too expensive
But I could do a lot of calculations in my head and was forced to understand how many digits I was carrying
Now, I can’t do anything in my head outside of figuring out a tip

I also became a lazy speller, just typing something close

I still do all of these:

1. Memorize a phone number

2. Use a phone book to find a company to do work around your house

4. Figure out math in your head

5. Call and ask a family member, “Where are you?”

6. Tell time by hands on a clock

15. Send a handwritten letter

16. Looking up the spelling of words in the dictionary

18. Carry cash [I don't live in Vegas]

Agreed. And I feel the same way about DVDs/Blurays for two reasons:

- Streaming services have very limited catalogues
- The Prog-Fascist book burners/statue destroyers are turning to movies now
