It isn't 1 or 2 exceptions, moron. It's millions of people.I'm sure you can find at least one or two exceptions.
But like an idiot, the one or two exceptions you've heard of, you think that disproves my comment.
Let me ask you, are you saying that our legal system has a habit of convicting innocent people?
It is very common for people who cannot afford bail to get arrested for a crime they did not commit and then agree to plead guilty anyways because they simply cannot afford to plead not guilty at pretrial.
For some people, sitting in jail for months waiting for trial could mean they lose their job, get evicted from their home, have their vehicle(s) impounded or repossessed and have all of their belongings including their clothes, pets, furniture, weapons, musical instruments, family photo albums and the tools of their trade that they use to make a living tossed to the curb and looted. And what doesn't get looted gets taken to the dump. And they are left with nothing but the outfit they were wearing the day they were arrested for a crime they did not commit.
So yes, facing certain homelessness and destitution if they fight the case and prove their innocence, vs. time served and stiff fines, if they just plead guilty, many poor people will plead guilty to a crime they did not commit.
The Criminal Justice Industrial Complex is a fucking scam.
Naive people such as yourself are the only ones who don't know that.
