Zone1 You're all a bunch of Jews for the most part, whether you like it or not

If you believe Moses was a prophet, congratulations! Your religion is built on the foundation of the Old Testament, and as such, it is Jewish.

Do whatever you have to do to cope with this: You most likely have Jewish roots.

Both Christianity and Islam are in fact, undeniably offshoots of Judaism.

Moses wasn't of the Tribe of Judah. He was of the Tribe of Levi. He was a Levite.

Modern Judaism has ZERO to do with biblical Israel. None of the Israelites of the Old Testament read from or taught the Babylonian Talmud. You are clearly out of your element speaking on or dealing with this topic.

It's the logical conclusion of the evidence of existence. Or at least how existence presents itself to us.
That's a fundamental difference in opinion we can never get past. I have never seen or heard any evidence for either mono or poly theism being our reality. Both are equally plausible to there being no deity responsible for creation at all. Countless religions have claimed to be the truth without offering any evidence over why any of them are truer than any other.

You have the order wrong. The Israelites were doing the things in the Talmud.

Do you believe existence came from non-existence? Or do you believe existence has always existed?

Because I submit to you that it's your perception of God - or more accurately, your lack of a perception of God - that is preventing you from exploring this concept. We tend to talk about nature like nature is the thing that exists but it isn't. Existence is the thing that exists. Nature describes existence. Think of God as existence.

That sounds to me like God resembles the Force from Star Wars. Which I like and believe is as plausible as any other thing.

God isn't a "thing." God is an action. God is every extant attribute of reality. I'm not saying God has those attributes. I am saying God is those attributes. We live in an alternate reality. Everything is information. This isn't a new concept. The linkage between mind and matter was formulated by world renowned physicists decades ago.

God was a Jew before Jews were uncool.

Sounds like the Force to me

All religion is myth. Its one of the few areas left where the US has a leadership position....the # of citizens who think some guy on a cloud controls their fate. Its little wonder that 1/2 the voting public voted for a 34X convicted felon...they’re mentally ill.
I will agree with your assertion that, "all religion is myth," if you can name just one, extant or extinct culture that has/had created no. . "myths," of their own.

Otherwise, you need a plausible explanation why every culture on Earth, in many cases independent of each other, has had as a part of its make-up, a knowledge of the divine.

I need do no such thing.

All religion is a myth as there is no proof of a supreme being outside of someone’s interpretation of the proof (aka the sun/rain/lottery win is a “blessing”).

This isn’t to say that religion is useless. If it gives solace or refuge...pursue it. If it dictates your actions...you probably shouldn’t pursue it. In a governmental context, if it is directing investments or policies that is probably a sign that you need new leadership in that government.

I just gave you the proof and asked you to invalidate it.

Thank you for admitting you cannot invalidate it.

If you say so. Your opinion holds no sway. You said something about extinct cultures or something. It didn’t mean anything then...means less now.

When you claim, w/o reasoning or evidence, that the evidence presented to you means nothing, you have lost.

The myth of a God, or religions - were created in a stone-age environment - where cave-dwellers simply couldn't' explain as to why the sun rises and goes down, what made these magnificent tasting Mammoth to exist, or why did they have 10 fingers.

Nowadays you got lot's of scientific books and even the internet.

You haven’t presented anything.

I presented logical reasoning.

If you care to confirm your allegation that religion and spirituality is naught but myth, by all means, find for me a culture and/or civilization that developed without it.

OR explain why it always exists in every human society, even those who have had no contact with the others.

IOW, you must explain why it is axiomatic that human cultures have a notion of the divine, without there actually being any.

If you can't give an explanation with at least one example. . . . . ???

Why did these cultures, all of them, independently come upon the same explanation?

This will be my last post on this thread as we are getting no where.

Why?

Its beneficial for numerous reasons.

First, its convenient to have a higher power to compel honesty. the Bible, koran or any other religious text has no more power to compel fidelity than a comic book.

Its also good to compel humanitarian behavior; if having a book of fables does that...it’s a good as any other motivation.
