You People

Petersen would be great, but I don't get the disdain for Johnson. I can see how his folksy, even at times goofy, demeanor could turn some people off. But he had a solid track record as governor.

At the end of the day, leaders, in my view, need to be uniters. They need to rise above the culture wars and find our common ground. I got the sense Johnson could do that. He could represent libertarian ideals in ways that weren't patently offensive to Ds and Rs. He also seemed like a genuinely nice guy. Weirdly, I think that's why many people dismissed him.

Of all the candidates on the ballot whom I didn't mark off the list as being "bad" (all one of them), Johnson was the best. That's why he got my vote.

Regardless, this thread isn't really about the Libertarian Party. It's about why people are stuck in the two-party death spiral, why they can't seem to break out.

I've pretty much decided to stop voting at this point. I'll be looking for any candidate with a genuine goal of implementing RCV, at any level. I'll vote for them. But I won't bother voting for anyone who doesn't pursue that change, regardless of whatever else they have to say. It's the only thing I can think of that might break the zombies out of their trance.
Mr. WhatIsAnAllepo was a joke. He appointed Weld as VP. The guy that supports govt discrimination, massive 2nd amendment infringement, socialist healthcare etc. The retard wanted to send the FBI to the Middle East FFS :lmao:
Johnson reminded me of a 15 year old stoner.

who is your ideal politician, then? name somebody!

America has NEVER been a friend of Stalinism or Nazism or any other flavor of authoritarianism. Even monarchy.

We spent untold trillions getting rid of commies all over the world.

Diversity with Stalinist pigs, we don't need.

Sorry if that offends your sensibilities. But it will be enforced. Eventually - eventually - America always sends these people packing.
Oh really? You ought to review a little pre WW II history. The Silver Shirts were decidedly Nazi supporters and overwhelmingly Republican… with many of them IN Congress

Money is free speech.
it is? When one candidate gets 23 times the money than another isn't a fair way to evaluate the candidates especially when smear campaigning over and over and over and over and over. Sorry, that isn't free, that cost money to run the ads.

perhaps you should take your own advice, Nazi studied American demofks and utilized their program to take over. Stop trying to misrepresent history.

I misrepresented nothing. Go Google Silver Shirts

Uh... "free speech" doesn't mean it doesn't cost anything. Not sure what you're talking about.

I don't want government to get involved in telling people how to spend their money. If someone wants to buy a bunch of ads promoting a candidate they believe in, they should have that right.

so you're good with demofks funding republican races to get their challenger. There's so much more to this. It's why we have election laws. It's not free.

Most especially if unsupervised drop boxes are allowed.

I've always wondered what controls were in place. I could request a mail in ballot in PA, but they can't be opened or counted until the day of the election. So say I decide to not do mail in after receiving the ballot and want to go to the polls the day of, will I be told I can't vote, do they know I was sent a ballot already? When they count the mail in ballots, are they cross checking each and every one to determine that the person did not show up in person to vote? Are they checking that multiple mail in ballots weren't received from the same person? So many potential ways for fraud if there are not strict controls in place.

not in illinois! again, I had that exact experience this election day. I was asked by the lady working the polls if I had received a mail in ballot. It didn't register that day, but did overnight, and I thought, hmmmmm, now why did she have to ask me that, isn't there a record to show I received one if I had? I surmised that answer as no.

proving yet again, this entire mail in process is flawed with fraud.

I also heard of a lady polster in Milwaukee who was sending herself military absentee ballots with anyone's name on them to her house. She openly acknowledged her fraud and was arrested. According to her, she was proving the wholes in the system. wow!!!! Imagine if most were doing that? Again, elections are littered with fraud.

I wasn't even asked... but they did have tablets in front of them looking me up, I have no idea what information it gives them though. That whole process should be more transparent, and if they don't want people questioning election integrity then the process and controls should be well communicated to the public.
