Happy Land mass murderer Julio Gonzalez denied parole - NY Daily News

Julio Gonzalez, who was convicted of 174 counts of murder following the fire that killed 87 people on March 25, 1990, was denied parole last month, state corrections officials said.......

After being thrown out by a bouncer that night, he returned with $1 worth of gasoline, poured the fuel around the door and lit it with two matches.

*************************

boy...it is a good thing he didn't use a gun.......

Woulda said firebombing Dresden, or use of atomic weapons on Japan was the worst. Unlike other military attacks where civilian casualties were unitentional or unavoidable, deliberately nuking cities or using incendiaries to inflict maximum punishment is nothing if not premeditated murder of civilians.

Sorry...the Germans and Japanese hadn't surrendered and Dresden was an industrial center...ask the U.S POWs who were there during the bombing....ditto a the Japanese......dropping the bomb ended that war.......which they started with a surprise attack on defenseless troops and civilians.....

Funny how no one talks to this guy about
Dresden...

Dresden We Gave Three Hearty Cheers At The Time One Veteran PoW Tells Breitbart London - Breitbart

“The one big point”, 96 year old Dennis Brock tells me, “that the BBC failed to mention in their coverage of the anniversary of the Dresden bombings was just how important the City was to the Russians.”

L/Bdr Brock was one of the many Prisoners of War who were in labour camps near the industrial hub on the Eastern side of Germany which had largely been overlooked by Allied bombing runs until 1945. The Red Army was at Breslau, Poland and the only working railway centre for the Germans fighting the Russian front was in Dresden.

Dennis Brock holds up a bell made from melted down German fighter planes shot down over England

The former Lance Bombardier was working in a brick works, in charge of 45 men when the raids took place. As well as that factory, there were other crucial elements of the German war machine nearby.

“Dresden was alive with factories, all manned by forced Labour from the East, including making artillery shells,” says Mr Brock.

In their coverage, the BBC didn’t emphasise how the City was the centre for the German war effort, including optical works for the Luftwaffe and tanks, all staffed by PoWs from Britain and the Empire as well as French and Italians.”

Did he feel guilty that it was the British who caused the death of so many, as he explains how they were “finding no end of bodies” as they cleared away the rubble?

“No, because the Nazis did it to our cities.”

And Mr Brock says he is certain the bombing, however horrific, brought about a more speedy end to the Second World War.

“It stopped supplies getting to the Russian front and helped the Russians advance” he explained, simply.

Got to hand it to conservative media, if they can find an old, upset white male (preferably a veteran), they will exploit the shit out of it.

They didn't emphasize something he wanted emphasize? How dare they!!

Try to understand the differences between a limited war and a total war. There are some good books on the subject, I would recommend "Men in Arms" by Preston, Roland and Wise. Those who fight a limited war during times of total war (ie: liberals today) are doomed to loose. Fortunately the West fired their pacifist leaders like Chamberlin at the beginning of world war II. I doubt we have the stomach to do it again...

Your ignorance or denial of historical facts is astounding. WWII didn't begin with Pearl Harbour. The US had already sided with China against Japan (Flying Tigers et al.,) US had an ongoing embargo against Japan cutting off most trade including oil (even today an act of war:)

"It was felt that the 1911 commercial treaty between the United States and Japan was not affording adequate protection to American commerce either in Japan or in Japanese-occupied portions of China, while at the same time the operation of the most-favored-nation clause of the treaty was a bar to the adoption of retaliatory measures against Japanese commerce. Consequently, in July 1939 this Government gave notice of termination of that treaty at the end of the six-month period prescribed by the treaty. That termination removed the legal obstacle to an embargo by the United States upon the shipment of materials to Japan.

The Export Control Act of July 2, 1940 authorized the President, in the interest of national defense, to prohibit or curtail the export of basic war materials. Under that act, licenses were refused for the export to Japan of aviation gasoline and most types of machine tools, beginning in August 1940. After it was announced in September that the export of iron and steel scrap would be prohibited, Japanese Ambassador Horinouchi protested to Secretary Hull on October 8, 1940 that this might be considered an "unfriendly act".

Despite the Japanese protest, a total embargo on the export of iron and steel scrap to destinations other than countries of the Western Hemisphere and Great Britain went into effect on October 16, 1940.

The effect of United States policy in regard to exports to Japan was that by the winter of 1940-41 shipment had ceased of many strategic commodities including arms, ammunition, and implements of war, aviation gasoline and many other petroleum products, machine tools, scrap iron, pig iron, iron and steel manufactures, copper, lead, zinc, aluminum, and a variety of other commodities important to war effort.

RELATIONS WITH JAPAN 1938-1940

Total war is unconscionable.

Of course it is. ALL war is unconscionable. However, it is oftentimes better than the alternative. Unfortunately few people understand this anymore, so we are doomed to repeat ourselves again....

Oh....so they were justified in murdering American citizens then....that is your take.....? really? The Japanese were monsters as were the Germans...they murdered millions of people, they tortured innocent men women and children.....so why don't you sell you sympathies for the Japanese Empire somewhere else.......

Not if it saves more lives than a never ending conflict inflicts.......

What is the alternative to total war that is less desirable?

Total subjugation. Imagine if we capitulated to Japan or Germany in WWII. Instead of the "Rape of Nanking", we could have the "Rape of Seattle" on the west coast, and we could have had a Nazi concentration camp in Poughkipsie. I think even pacifists would agree that outcome would have been worse than us waging war on Japan and Germany.

Today we have another group who are waging total war against us, and most of us are still ignoring it. If they win they will impose Sharia law on all of us. That would certainly be less desirable than waging total war back against them.
