lol. I have to tell you something, Saigon. Every single year I told my friends on an AOL message board which team I was praying for. WELL IN ADVANCE. Without fail my team won. ( some of those bloggers are on this very board! )

Do you think a single one of my friends or adversaries on that AOL board ever placed a bet on my team? No. You're the first! ha! ha! I never advocate betting - I don't do it but I always make my pick known so you'll read who my team is here. Have an awesome day and I hope the Russians like Bronze because that is their color this year. Bronze is a symbol of judgment in the bible by the way. Not a good metal to be identified with. imo. - Jeri

Congratulations to Switzerland for beating the US. They will play for their first world championship in 60 years. I hope they win.

Didn't we used to win world championships in hockey?

The US is always strong at the Olympics, but I don't recall them ever winning the World Champs. I'm sure they have at some point, but I don't remember.

Finland won in 2011, but Russia, Canada, Sweden and the Czechs tend to dominate the medals.

1980 Lake Placid Olympics. USA Hockey Team won the Gold.

Why can't the US compete anymore?

Our field goal kicker is too old and our point guards can't beat the press. Obvious problems.

So, Finland lost 3-0 to Sweden, so will play US for bronze.

I hope Switzerland wins the gold.
