I do want USA to win but I don’t mind if the homeland wins..

Wow. Some serious drama just now. Two US players in the sin bin at the same time. 5 Canadians against 3 Americans for two minutes. Serious pressure.

And then one of the US players drops his twig during the ensuing battle at the US goal!

Yet somehow, Team USA held firm! Canada failed to score.

Incredible.

Another brawl with Tkachuk right in the middle of it, losing his helmet in the scrum.

A Canadian player, Bennett, just earned a 4 minute penalty for high sticking our man Jack Hughes, cracking two of his teeth.

Hughes, a badass, is staying in the game.

Tie score (1-1) at the end of the third period. Going into sudden death.

I have to admit, the Canadians have been playing far better than Team USA. Team USA's defense is sucking wind.

Canada has made 41 shots on goal to 26 by the US. If it wasn't for the world's best goalie being on Team USA, Canada would have been up by another 3 or 4 points and taking home the Gold right now.

3 v 3 OT for a gold medal. This is a sin in my opinion.

I would say Canada has the edge with more speed up front. However, if the U.S win the face off to start OT and someone like Matthews or Eichel get a clean shot 2 on 1, this could be over quick.

Whoever wins will have an asterisk beside their name. They have to make it 5v5 for a period at least.

Our men and women of Team USA have absolutely dominated hockey in the Olympics.

Our women defeated Canada for the gold yesterday in overtime.

As I write this, the men's Team USA is pounding the shit out of Slovakia, entering the third period with a score of 5-0. This means Slovakia will be playing Finland for the Bronze, and we will be competing against Canada on Sunday for the Gold.

It is embarrassing how badly our boys and girls have been spanking the planet. The only ones who gave us a good fight were the Swedes, who we beat by a whisker in overtime.

I have to say, the Swedes play like real gentlemen. They don't slam their opponents into the boards, they don't play rough at all.

Something I learned while watching the female Team USA is that body checking an opponent into the boards is not allowed in the women's hockey. One of our gals was sent to the sin bin for doing so.

Are you kidding me? Body checking into the boards is all part of the game in men's hockey!

Watching this USA v. Slovakia game, there is a Slovak who appears to have some kind of vendetta against one of the Tkachuk brothers, Matthew. The Slovak has physically attacked Tkachuk several times, including coming from behind and putting Tkachuck in a choke hold. Without drawing a penalty!

After the third or fourth attack, he was finally sent to the sin bin, but it has not stopped him.

There is something personal going on here.
