"A video showing an Arkansas State police officer causing a pregnant woman's car to flip during a pursuit is going viral. On July 9, 2020 Nicole Harper was traveling south bound on US Highway 67. Officer Rodney Dunn allegedly clocked harper driving 84 miles per hour in a 70 mile per hour zone. That’s when he flashed his lights and tried to pull her over. Harper can be seen in the dash cam footage moving to the right lane and putting her hazard lights on. It was two minutes and 7 seconds between the time Dunn turned his emergency lights on to when he executed a PIT maneuver on her vehicle.

In the dash cam footage you can hear Officer Dunn ask Harper why she didn’t stop. She responds by saying “because I didn’t feel like it was safe.” Dunn then asked Harper if she is the only one in the vehicle. Harper replied, “Yes, I’m pregnant.” Now Harper is filing a lawsuit against the Arkansas State Police hoping to prevent this from ever happening to anyone else."

So this woman does 84mph in a 70 mph zone and thinks she deserves to sue the cops because of it?? First of all, anyone who does 14 mph over the speed limit is a criminal to begin with; then for that person to refuse to pull over and comply with the cops; that person should be in prison, period...

Yea, she reduced her speed to 60 mph, turned on her hazard lights and moved over to the right lane because there was a reduced shoulder on the highway and she felt like it was safer to pull over at the next exit -- and yes, this is legal per Arkansas DMV motorist guide -- but still....that is not her decision to make....This guy did what he had to do to make sure she didn't pose a danger to other motorists by flipping her cover on the freeway.....in front of other motorists....

This will go to a jury. I am quite willing to let a jury decide. It does not take much to file a lawsuit in this country. Look at trump. It's not just for rich people anymore.

The Cop needs to be Fired & Jailed or sued!!! She was not a danger at 60/mph with flashers on. The Officer created the danger for her, her fetus, himself, others on the road, rescue crews, tax payers money & the recovery crew that had to remove her vehicle from the highway & repair roadway!

Cop was an ass and his force will pay big

The woman was no threat, she was accused of speeding not bank robbery or kidnapping. Flipping her car was overkill

More importantly, she was obeying the law. It was obviously not a safe place to pull over and she indicated so by SLOWING down and putting her blinker and flashers on as described in the Oregon Drivers Manual.

She was obviously not trying to escape and did what a responsible driver would do

Sad part is....if she gets any type of settlement -- it will be paid for by taxpayers.......

Imagine if police unions had to be partially on the hook for for things like this...they may put a bit more pressure on cleaning up their own police departments.

The cop was wrong. She was not a threat to anyone and his bumping her put her life and the lives of others on that road at that time in risk.

This was addressed on the Inside Edition show not too long ago. If I remember right, the baby that she was pregnant with is her first and not only that, it took her ten years to get pregnant with it! May she kick butt in court!

God bless you and the woman and her family always!!!

Wrong.
When the cop flipped her car, she was under the speed limit, had her turn signal on, and was waiting for the next exist.
What she was doing was perfectly legal.
The cop is guilty of attempted murder.

Want to stop this sort of behavior once and for all? Want to see cops turning on each other and exposing the abuse instead of covering it up? The answer is there. And you almost have it.

Have a portion of the settlements paid for out of the police retirement fund. When someone has a years worth of their retirement savings eradicated because of police misconduct. Guarantee that the next time it is stopped exposed and the offender is fired post haste.

The only time the pit maneuver is legal is if the person is a known felon who is escaping with weapons.
Even then it makes no sense, as shooting a rear tire is much safer and sure to stop anyone.
