The paper used in some of the better quality bibles makes for pretty good rolling papers when you run out of Zig Zags... or so I hear...

I have to admit that I did colour code my Bible for certain topics so that I could find cool scriptures fairly easily.

Most people who actually study bibles wear them out and highlight and tab them no end, then when they wear out toss them and get new ones. Ot isn't sacrilege or anything, it's what they are for, study and use and organizing. The OP never said if it was an old bible and not here only one, so I have no opinion on the OP. If it's on old one then I don't care what she recycled it's use to. It's like sniveling over the verses being numbered and the scrolls being organized into 'books', which could technically also be considered 'defacing', and in fact is in some Jewish circles.

It's pretty much a necessity for those who actually read it and study. Some versions even use wide margins for doing just that.

Not really,. As I said, she probably got another one as a gift or something and no longer used that one. It was scrap paper at that point. It's an object, a tool, not an icon to be worshipped.
