Will Speaker Pelosi withhold articles of impeachment from Senate until guaranteed a fair trial?

Some House Democrats push Pelosi to withhold impeachment articles, delaying Senate trial

When will Speaker Pelosi send Articles of Impeachment to the Senate for trial? Apparently that is her choice if/when she sends them over for trial. It sounds like she is strategically waiting for feedback from McConnell about the rules/procedures - and FAIRNESS. If she thinks it's just going to be a sham trial - she may not send them over. The Articles of Impeachment DO NOT EXPIRE - not next year; not next Congress; not ever.

What do you think?

In the Constitution, and before that, all the way back to the Magna Carta signed in 1215 in Runnymede, it was always understood that the DEFENDANT who was guaranteed the fair trial. And a speedy one. It was never the Persecution that had those rights.

The libs, as usual have the whole system of American jurisprudence half assed backwards.

And no, defendants don't have to prove their innocence.

Imagine if Trump wasn't the President, and it was a black youth serving. There is no way in hell that the libs would put up for this. Blatant case of racism, and ageism.

I didn't say I want that.

But I don't like Trump. And the majority of people don't like him either. Your "up up and away" bullshit is just stupid.

You either want that or will vote for Trump, or not vote. If you are here you value your opinion and your vote as you should.

So,

Why do you want your taxes tripled so that illegal immigrants can get stuff they did not work for that you pay for?

You can't answer, no one can they just go into Trump tantrums like you just did.

If you thought about this and tried to answer you would vote for Trump like MLKs niece Alveda did

I did answer. Here, I'll repeat it for you. "I didn't say I want that." Maybe you should read that again.

I'll vote anyone over Trump.

You have 2 choices, vote so that you pay for illegal immigrants healthcare or vote for Trump. Your only other choice is not to vote.

See you seem to be demanding a candidate that wants what you do and it does not work that way.

So you vote for Trump or you want your taxes tripled so that illegal immigrants can get stuff they did not work for that you pay for?

Might not be fair but socialism and communism leaves you with no rights

MAGA or die

I'm going to vote for the one that I like most or despise less. This isn't rocket science.

Just because I vote for someone doesn't necessarily mean that I endorse every single thing on their agenda. I think Trump is a narcissistic asshole who is completely unfit for office. I would vote for just about anyone over him.

So you're going with the Communists, then.

I'm voting for Not Trump. Whatever that happens to be.

I couldn't care less what you think of them.

As is your right. If you think that tearing down the wall, and offering our Illegals free health care is tremendous, then you should vote against the Trumpster.

Myself, if Trump loses, I will be giving up my US citizenship and signing up to become an Illegal Alien. Then I wouldn't have to pay taxes and would get free health care.

I hate to say this because the retards said the same about Trump but if Trump loses the market collapses instantly

Pelosi is just a politician's politician. I've met folks like that, they aren't that smart.

And Harvard isn't as impressive in intelligence as you might think. They actually believed that rubbish about Pocahontas being a Squaw and gave her a high priced job. Warren didn't fool me, so I think I'm smarter than Harvard too.

This is not the first time that Pelosi has been the target of false claims about alcohol, even though Pelosi’s office has told FactCheck.org on two other occasions that she does not drink alcohol: once in 2010, amid accusations of Pelosi spending taxpayer dollars on partying during air travel, and again in May, when two videos were manipulated to make Pelosi’s words sound slurred.

This procedure should never have ever been initiated if they didn't have any goddamn facts to back up the allegations. It almost seems this entire endeavor amounted to a fishing expedition. And now they want to procrastinate, they know they don't have anything substantial. YET...I think they hoping for some Hail Mary play, a last minute miracle to legitimize this little stunt. Unless they really truly find something on Trump that sticks, the Dems have huge plate of crow to eat.

There is no trial? I do not know what you mean by that, quite honestly.
There is no trial, no judge, no jury. Do you see any of that?...
No. I do not see that. There will be a trial in the US Senate.

On the other hand we already know that you do not know ANYTHING
Irrelevant. Unnecessary. Incorrect.
A trial has a judge and 12 impartial jurors.

That said the senate has no judge and ZERO impartial jurors

But if you want to call it a trial you may, however it would not be legal in any US court

So it is not a trial

OMG, listen up. I'm only going to post this once:

1 The senate will have Supreme Court Justice Roberts presiding, so there is a "judge"
2. The senate rules are that a simple majority vote can overrule a Roberts decision
3. This will be an "impeachment trial" as prescribed in the US Constitution. If Nancy ever forwards the Articles to the Senate

4. U.S. Senate: Impeachment

"In impeachment proceedings, the House of Representatives charges an official of the federal government by approving, by majority vote, articles of impeachment. A committee of representatives, called “managers,” acts as prosecutors before the Senate. The Senate sits as a High Court of Impeachment in which senators consider evidence, hear witnesses, and vote to acquit or convict the impeached official. In the case of presidential impeachment trials, the chief justice of the United States presides. The Constitution requires a two-thirds vote of the Senate to convict, and the penalty for an impeached official upon conviction is removal from office. In some cases, the Senate has also disqualified such officials from holding public offices in the future. There is no appeal. Since 1789, about half of Senate impeachment trials have resulted in conviction and removal from office."

5. Article Two of the United States Constitution - Wikipedia
Section 4: Impeachment
The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.

The Constitution also allows for involuntary removal from office of the president, vice president, Cabinet secretaries, and other executive officers, as well as judges, who may be impeached by the House of Representatives and tried in the Senate.

Any official convicted by the Senate is immediately removed from office, and the Senate may also order, by a simple majority, that the removed official be forever disqualified from holding any federal office.[49][50][51]

While no other punishments may be inflicted pursuant to the impeachment proceeding, the convicted party remains liable to trial and punishment in the courts for civil and criminal charges

Again any trial must have an impartial jury of ones peers. The sitting senate can not in any way and under any circumstance pass a jury questionnaire of impartiality. So without an impartial jury the system would not be legal in any court. I have been a jury foreman, it's not rocket science unless I get technical that is

Bye the way genius in any real court Roberts would have to disqualify himself, so there is no legit judge presiding. LOL if shitomayor was the chief justice and having said that no honkey like Trump could ever have the wisdom of a wise Latina judge was the judge would that be fair.

It's a fucking joke

There is no trial? I do not know what you mean by that, quite honestly.

It's a fucking joke. Its no joke, its all prescribed in the Constitution, and there are no appeals to the verdict. Trump either stays president or he leaves office if 67 senators vote for removal, which won't happen.

Funny. Are you smarter than Harvard Law Professor Laurence Tribe, Speaker Pelosi and all her congressional attorneys?
They all predicted president Hillary so yea I am smarter than them

Everyone predicted Hillary - even Trump. He didn't know the Russians would be so effective at overthrowing the election.

Actually, in October 2016, B. Hussein O himself was asked if the election could be rigged. He explained that it was impossible and explained why.

The President, at that point in time, received daily intelligence briefings and was in touch constantly with his cronies Clapper, Comey and Brennan. IF there was any possibility that the election was possibly going to be rigged and the results tainted, he would have told the people then, before they went to the ballot box.

But, he didn't.

The democrats will get exactly what they gave during the Schiff Sham you're insane if you thought they would be given a free pass.

No. I do not see that. There will be a trial in the US Senate.

Again any trial must have an impartial jury of ones peers. Correct for a normal jury trial, but not an impeachment trial, the senate is the jury.

The sitting senate can not in any way and under any circumstance pass a jury questionnaire of impartiality. So without an impartial jury the system would not be legal in any court. I have been a jury foreman, it's not rocket science unless I get technical that is.
You will see how wrong you are when the senate trial starts, there is no jury questionnaire.

Bye the way genius in any real court Roberts would have to disqualify himself, so there is no legit judge presiding. LOL if shitomayor was the chief justice and having said that no honkey like Trump could ever have the wisdom of a wise Latina judge was the judge would that be fair.
As Chief Justice Roberts is the presiding judge, period.

It's a fucking joke. Its no joke, its all prescribed in the Constitution, and there are no appeals to the verdict. Trump either stays president or he leaves office if 67 senators vote for removal, which won't happen.

Again if there is no impartial jury and the judge was appointed on party lines this is NOT A TRIAL. Look I know they are calling it one, but it is not a trial, not for a second.

The senate has the constittional power to render a judgement on impeachment plain and simple....case closed.

Anyhow.....it could not possibly be more unfair than the democratic house was.

Actually, I hope that is not the case.

Mitch does not need to follow Adam Schiffhead down that sewer.

The senate has every reason to aquit Trump and it will. Legitimately.

It does not need any of the garbage that Schiffhead pulled when was "running the show".
