You NEVER really delete information from a database like this. You WANT the old data because it's used for more than just paying benefits. There may be challenges to benefit awards from an estate, the data is useful for research, etc.

What happened is that Musk focused one field "Death Flag set to FALSE" and he and Trump have spun this into:

Death Flag set to FALSE means paying benefits. This is false.

Death Flag set to False != Receiving Benefits (Spoken, that logic would read "Death flag set to false DOES NOT mean receiving benefits".

A payment issued (for example December 2024 when SS Retirement payments equaled 89,106) means "receiving benefits".

There are not millions and millions of people over 100 receiving SS Retirement. Just ain't happening.

2020 Census, Number of people over 100 in the US = 92,000.

Small variations over time and not all people even qualify for SS Retirement.

People are NEVER removed from the rolls (it's a database thing). The question isn't how many people are in the system. The question is how many people over 100 are drawing benefits, becuase those are two different questions.

ANSWER: The number drawing benefits closely aligns with census data. Oh - and the census was done under the Trump Administration. It shows there are not millions over 100 drawing SS Retirement benefits.
