If Biden had not imposed the range restrictions on the ordnance we gave Ukraine, Russia would be in far worse condition than it is. Ukraine might have been able to destroy the tank storage yards before Putin emptied them.

Trump (and Biden before him) don't have many tools to do this, Putin built his vertical of power, allowing loyal people to steal literally everything that lies badly, oligarchs inside Russia still have enough money to live and not deny themselves anything. They understand perfectly well that if Putin is removed, the new ruler will build a new vertical of power in which there will be no place for the current oligarchs, so they will support Putin to the last.

Putin has no interest in peace. He has never made a secret of his desires, and he has never made a secret of who he hates. He wants expansion as quickly as possible. And he's more than happy to fool any fool who enables him, and he knows exactly who the biggest and most important fool is.
