The Two Week Cease Fire Deal Is A Positive Development!

The very beginning of that video cracked me up the way she said that. That's kind of the attitude I have about it, too, except I have that attitude regarding the whole middle east mess. lol...

"The Ayatollahs, the 'terror regime' as they say on Fox News, will be in place, and that's not a win, that's a loss. .

U.S. military bases in the region have been destroyed, certainly badly damaged. U.S. military personnel have withdrawn, retreated — that's not good, that's not a display of power, that's a display of weakness. There's no way to spin that, that's a loss.

This war has cost hundreds of billions of dollars, U.S. taxpayer dollars…That's a loss.

Commodities prices have risen…That's a loss, that's a tax on people who buy things in the United States.

And then, of course, Americans have been killed. It's not clear how many because there's an awful lot of lying about it, but it's a substantial number, more than a dozen, maybe much more than that, we don't know yet. So Americans have died.

America's gotten poorer. America's become weaker, demonstrably — we can't open the Strait of Hormuz, which is the overriding objective of this war, we can't do it by force, that's been proven. And the regime that we described as illegitimate — this crazed theocracy, those Stone Age people — are going to, when this is all over, remain in control of Iran. Those are losses, just objectively."

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth looks toward Chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine.
The Trump administration declared victory in its military campaign against Iran almost exactly 24 hours after the U.S. and Tehran announced a ceasefire.
But it doesn’t look that way on a strategic level.
American forces have dominated on tactics, sinking the Iranian navy, crippling its ballistic missile and drone-making capabilities, and decimating most of its air defenses.
Yet the hardliners who have ruled Tehran for the past 47 years are still in charge. Iran still possesses its stockpile of highly enriched uranium — one of Trump’s key reasons for starting the war. And it can claim a newfound dominance over the Strait of Hormuz, a growing threat to world energy markets.

Trump needs someone to blame.

1. The straits are not open, they were, now they will be tolled - how is that a win?"

Don't care. We don't get nor need anything from there. It hurts the Chinese, not us.
2. Nuclear material is STILL in Iran - how is that a win?

They can't use it. Might as well be iced tea. Are you really that stupid?
3. We had 3 planes shot down by our allies and 17 aircraft destroyed by Iran, two boats drydocked from attacks or clogged toilets, and had a disastrous heist attempt go wrong - how is that a win?

lol accidnets during military exercises are common as dirt, even in peacetime ops. Losing drones is no big deal ,except to desperate IRanian propagandists. Our losses are very light for the scale of operations being conducted.
4. Iran is now getting more money from oil than ever before - how is that a win?

lol sure. And my ducks poop solid gold.
5. Gas prices have doubled, Amazon and USPS raised prices, airlines are raising ticket prices, shipping containers are being assessed fuel surcharges, and fertilizer is sky high prices and scarce - how is that a win?
So? PRice gouging is always a feature of businesses looking for windfalls. Don't buy of tht stuff til the price goes down.
6. The old leader was replaced by a young leader who is the son of the killed leader - how is that a win?

lol and how is he doing so far? He's hiding in basements sucking his thumb. Iran has no air force, no army that can defend it, and soon no electricity and no functioning oil industry.

Our causalities are barely noticeable from our normal peacetime operations.

You've never had any tantrums over deaths until you were told to pretend to care by your masters.

Yes, you're told to run around and make believe your side is winning and American is losing. same thing our enemies do in every war.

Big yawn,.

A reporter near Tel Aviv last I checked reported 5 missile flyovers from Iran into Israel since the ceasefire including at least one cluster bomb.
Israel violated the ceasefire in less than 3 hours from its start. Actually, they just said: "F#ck you, Yankees, we are continuing to bomb Lebadon whatever threaty you have. You, Ghoim, should fight and die for the benefit of Israel, and that's how the things are". The only question is why Trump obey them and don't obey American people.

Didn't know Lebanon was on the Strait. Can you post of a map and time when it moved there? Thanks in advance.

It was a part of the ceasefire.

And Israel-led coalition effectively ended it before it actually started.
May be, the very "acceptance of the ceasefire", was nothing but attempted manipulation of markets.

Pakistan said there was a ceasefire and Lebanon was included.
The US didn't see it that way. I don't believe Israel was at the table.
Iran violated the ceasefire as well firing on Israel and the Gulf states.
Either the ceasefire works or it doesn't before the meeting on Saturday.

Yes.

The USA said that they agreed with Pakistan's terms of ceasefire, including Lebadon. If the USA can't control Israel - it is only American problem.

If Israel [and Gulf states] are not the part of Iran-USA ceasefire, as you said, it just mean that Iran have right to attack both Israel and Gulf States. And it means that the USA just thrown them to the wolves.

Either the ceasefire works or it doesn't before the meeting on Saturday.
Either it is ceasefire between US-led coalition and Iran-led coalition (and Israel just proved it's not), or it's just US alleviation, or attempt to lure out the next group of Iranian negotiators just to kill them.
I think there will be no negotiations. There is nothing to talk about (Trump already said thet they won't accept at least 3 of ten Iranian peace terms), there is no reason to negotiate (Iran can continue fight), and there is nobody to negotiate with (Americans are just untrustworthy).

Vance said Lebanon wasn't included, so there was a legitimate misunderstanding.

Is Hezbollah part of the ceasefire? Israel won't stand down unless Hezbollah stops shooting rockets at them.

We'll see on Saturday. If negotiations fail so will Iran's powerplants and bridges.

It is Iran who needs the ceasefire, not us. We're doing just fine, while inflation is eating up your countty. The gate from Turkey will be closed soon.

C'mon, don't be such a princess. Iran still have access to Caspian sea and ground border with Afghanistan. And if Russia and China invest in Iran one tenth from what you had invested in Ukraine - they will fight with comfort.

We’re living in Orwellian times.
Well, it seems to me, that Orwell was too optimistic about future of Anglo-Saxon mindset. In his world, doublethink means that people see contradictions in their words and statements and use specific mental tricks to play with contradictory statements. Nowadays people of Oceania are rather "non-binary thinkers" they don't even notice a contraditions in their words and don't believe that logic is somehow important.
