Why we have gun crime...7 time felon with 4th gun case freed on ankle monitor tries to shoot and kill his girlfriend. Thanks democrats.

Not every soldier is in a tank. Most of the Russians in Ukraine are not in tanks.
Strong military action and indefensible because of the arms the military has access too carry's large assumptions too.

First, the assumption that the gov't would resort to tanks, plans, bombs, nukes, etc., is an assumption that these would be needed.

Second, It is also assumed that military leadership, would follow commands to attack US citizenry blindly. Do we honestly believe that if the gov't became tyrannical everyone in the military would follow suit and become tyrannical too? If a this were to happen, we would see a civil war break out. And you better believe, having an armed citizenry to protect our freedoms and liberties is a plus.

Some of you will gladly sit back and let the gov't become tyrannical with no way to stop the gov't. Shame on you for being constitutionally and political ignorant and a milquetoast at best when it comes to protecting our civil liberties.

Yes, and they got America into a gun mess.
Incorrect. The only mess we have is the urban subculture that continually wages war amongst themselves using illegally obtained firearms.

The vast, vast majority of citizens of this country, who legally own, you never hear of.

Politicians and the MSM use illogical emotionally charged narratives to divide. Those that are unable to see the true stats and numbers sit on that side, spouting the same illogical, emotionally charged rhetoric while ignoring statistical facts and data. I'm sure you've seen and read the data. The rest is up to you if you choose to accept the facts, or live in your emotionally charged illogical bubble.

What it is, Americans are toxic individualistic so their culture believes guns are for self defence. Whereas the Swiss have the right to bare arms will less gun incidents and only 2 mass shootings in 20 years because their culture believes guns are for national defence.

No offence, but Americans don't understand the gun debate, they just think inanimate object and nothing more.

Maybe we should hold the gun industry accountable for making them so easy to get. Come on, guy you can't whine about "gun laws" when the NRA runs to Congress getting more protection for the gun industry.

How many of these guys are sporting brand new guns fresh from the factory?

But you leave a lot out and misrepresent. The Swiss have mandatory military enlistment. During that time, they are taught proper gun safety and stewardship. Also guns are central to their countries safety and neutral position. They want their citizens armed for the protection of their country. And really, that's no different than the US. However, the big difference is cultural. Switzerland gun owner ship is heavily regulated, and some 2A supporters would be absolutely against it. BUT, imagine how different it might be if every able body male had to serve in the military, how our approach to guns and gun use would change.

How might things change if we taught proper gun ownership, safety and training at the high school level (Oh and some do, they use air rifles).

The US has plenty of responsible "Swiss" like owners. Unfortunately, the left like to parade the gun nuts and the mentally ill that use them to hurt others as the focus. The number of responsible gun owners greatly out weighs those that are not. Continue to focus on the latter for your narrative.

I've not missed anything out. Next you will cry foul because their guns are a different colour.

If you adore how the Swiss are orientated towards guns, just copy their system if you want America to have a safe gun culture.

At the moment, American gun nuts are mentally ill with guns.

Your response is illogical and conjecture. Seriously. You're a waste of digital literary space and of anyone's time.

Funny you should m ention that. Every time we have a mass shooting, they usually find out they bought their weapons within days or weeks of the incident.

Heck, I'm willing to go so far as to say if you bought your gun in the last year, you probably aren't going to cause trouble now.

But how about going forward, we don't give the crazies guns.

How about you figure out a way to do it without infringing on my rights?

And where would he get a gun if guns weren't readily available? Would the Gun Fairy bring him a gun?

We lock up 2 million people in this country. Locking people up isn't a solution.

This is the same Eddie Johnson who drove drunk, tried to use his badge to get out of it, and got fired.
Where do criminals get drugs that are already banned? The same people who smuggle drugs and illegal aliens would simply smuggle the readily available military weapons from Eastern Europe, the Middle East and South and Central America. If you want to call the smuggling cartels the "gun fairy" it's okay by me. Anytime something is banned criminals will step up to provide it at a nice profit. Post WWII in Europe it was cigarettes, that's why "go fast boats" are generically called cigarette boats, because small fast boats with small cargo spaces were used to smuggle cigarettes into countries that had placed high taxes on them. Or going a bit further back, the criminals like Capone, The Purple Gang and the Irish Mob smuggled booze into the country for a tidy profit. Ot the various Brits who smuggled wines and lace into England during the Napoleonic Wars. To paraphrase a movie line, if you want it, it will come.

Locking up criminals who use guns IS the only workable solution. They can't commit crimes against citizens when they are behind bars.

Actually, Mexico has a Second Amendment, just like ours.

The reason why they are awash in guns is not because 200 guns were involved in a single operation, but because 250,000 guns cross the border every year.
Mexico has a Second Amendment ON PAPER. It has been emasculated by subsequent laws to the point where the only legal gun store in Mexico is in Mexico D.F. and the only guns legal for citizens to own are small bore rifles and pistols and either single shot or double-barreled shotguns. That doesn't seem to stop the cartels from acquiring actual military weapons in any quantity required, both those designed in the old Soviet Bloc and the USA. The Mexican military is so corrupt that not only does it hand over military weapons given to it by the USA, but it's soldiers moonlight for the cartels as well.

A gun isn't going to protect you from professional soldiers in tanks.

If that were true, the Death Penalty states would have lower murder rates than the non-DP states. the US would have a lower rate than the rest of the civilized world that has abolished the DP.
Actually, they do. Tankers don't live in their tanks and spend about eight times as much time outside the tank pulling maintenance as operating it. Plus, there are all those nice, vulnerable trucks hauling food, fuel and ammo for the tanks. Tankers when buttoned up inside their tanks are blind and deaf, that's why they need infantry to protect them for other infantry or anti-tank teams armed with everything from Molotov cocktails to missiles.

Um, if gun bans can't possibly work.. then how come all these countries have successfully banned guns.
A gun is a lot more complicated than booze or cigarettes, so this argument fails.

They sensibly realized that the Second Amendment is about militias and not gun ownership.

Also, most of the weapons that are confiscated from the cartels start their lives in US Gun stores.

We already lock up 2 million people. We lock up more people than Communist China. Incidentally, my fiancé is from China. She doesn't understand how we can let so many people have guns. I wish I had a better answer than, "250 years ago, a bunch of slave owners who shit in chamber pots couldn't clearly define a militia, and 50 years ago, the gun industry decided to exploit that to mean any lunatic who wants a gun can have one."

That's because China executes its criminals, the people locked up are political dissidents and if you trust the numbers China admits to you are an idiot. Take a look back at the numbers of Covid infections China was admitting to.
