Zone1 Why was the Resurrection of Jesus Christ Necessary?

So Israel's claim that God gave them their land is bogus too?

Look, I get it. You are weak willed and easily led. You need your Non-Existent Magical, Mystical, Mythical Sky Man. You need his for shit holy myth book. None of it is real. Here's the problem, you cheery your holy myth book. Here's the problem, you cheery pick what parts of the holy book you like and ignore the rest. You claim to be "Pro-Life", yet you support Russian killing unborn children in Ukraine and thought Israel killing Palestinian children was fine, well, right and good. You're another religious hypocrite.

Look, I get it.

All people are far from perfect .
They need others to look up to .Heroes , role models etc

Jesus the Essene monk was popular for a time.
But we have since grown and developed , and even an Elon Musk is worth a hundred Jesus characters , Let alone a King Trumpfy type of figure .
These people influence millions not just a homeless band wandering around begging every day and generally being a nuisance .

Thats a copout. Teaching gods love to the world is a heck of a lot easier if you convince the world that you are in fact the son of God. Showing people his powers would INSTANTLY accomplish that.
He did show people who he is. There were witnesses.

If one does not believe the witness, why would one believe his own eyes? Notice Jesus had one witness who, up to the Last Supper, saw it all. Contemplate: If you saw everything Judas saw, heard all that Judas heard, would you believe? If the answer is 'Yes', what makes us think we are any better than Judas?

I offer this: Our own belief comes from following Jesus and putting his words and teachings into action in our own lives. Jesus is the best teacher, but my own life offers me the best answer/testimony to the question, "Is Jesus the Son of God? Is Jesus One with God."

I believe, not because I saw Jesus manifesting great powers, but because I saw great power emulating in my own life from the effect of his words/teachings being placed into action.

The reaction isnt "so what", the reaction is "prove this wild claim".

As for what would change if Jesus had shown me and everyone else his powers... the entire world would change and every human on Earth would be unified in their belief of Christianity. Instead, all we have are some unrealistic claims in a 2000 year old book full of random biblical stories about talking bushes and dudes who live inside of whales. Its supremely unconvincing..
Is there a talking bush in your life? Is your life comprised of living inside a big fish? What were the lessons Moses and Jonah were learning? Do these lessons (not the bush or the whale) have a place in your own life?

No, you don't get it but that's OK because you can't bring yourself to say Israel's claim that their land is God given is bogus AND that they committed genocide when they first occupying that land.

So no matter how much you howl against religion, there will always be that to discredit your beliefs.

Ohhh, i should believe all witnesses? The word of a witness is equal to what ive seen with my own eyes?

You can go kick rocks with that fortune cookie horseshit. If this is the dishonest way you intend to debate me, then just go away, dude. That shit is lame and you should be ashamed for typing it. Youre wasting my time.

You are out of control .

An unwell person like you should continue happily in your private life but keep it personal and silent .
Hearing continually about other people's mistakes and delusions is tiring and so repetitive .
imho

No, ive never seen a talking bush or a had a bedroom inside of a living whale thats swimming around in the sea. Have you?

No, I do get it. You're lying hypocritical asshole. You have no problem with Israel and Russia killing innocent children and murdering the unborn. You cherry pick what parts of your holy myth believe and ignore the rest. Killing Innocent Children is something YOU are supposed to oppose, in reality when it expedient you sit with thumb up your ass defending the murder children. You and people like you make me oh so glad I don't believe.

Does the fact that Jesus now has an immortal body of flesh and bones limit his power as God in any way shape or form? If not, why would it ever limit the power of the Father if he too had an immortal body of flesh and bones?

You are making assumptions which have no basis in fact. Whereas I know you won't call Israel's claim of God given rights to occupy Israel a bogus claim even as you label the Torah as fairytales and God nonexistent.

Maybe try backing up your allegations with some posts of mine. Let's see how you fare. Until then... #winning.

If it is a waste of time, no need to respond. In your posts of yesterday, I thought this was something you wanted to discuss with someone. If you have no wish to discuss it--at least with me--then the best way is to stop addressing what I post.

First: Note that I did not say you should believe all witnesses. I said if you don't believe the witness, would you believe what you saw with your own eyes? Judas didn't.

By the way, I don't debate. I'll listen and respond as I enjoy exploring differing perspectives with others. Because I am quite able of forming my own conclusions, I credit all others with that same ability to form their own conclusions, which I respect even when I am not in agreement with those conclusions.

I'll see a return post as an invitation to respond, and to continue on.

Then you believe Israel has no God given rights to that land and they committed genocide when first occupying it. Brilliant.

Then put me on ignore and stop reading my posts. Or, if it is more fun to tell me what's wrong with me, do that. I can always use a good laugh.

Judas never saw Jesus use powers, obviously, so he wasnt a true believer. Even I, as an atheist, would devote my life to Jesus if he displayed his powers to me. No one backstabs the son of a god. There is no upside to that.

Judas wasn't on the boat during the storm?
Even if he was, he clearly never saw divine powers at work. If someone claimed that Judas saw Jesus use his powers, they are obviously lying. No one sells out a god-man. NO ONE!

Incorrect. Try using google to back up your claim.

No. What I have had is God helping me to prepare and go forth and give a speech, just as He told Moses to go forth and free the Israelites. Just as Jonas didn't want to go to Nineveh, I didn't want to give a speech. As living in a fish, even for three days, didn't appeal to me, I chose the speech. ;)

My point is that God's presence comes in unexpected ways, just as it did for Moses. God's will has a purpose, sometimes entirely unrecognized, until later. Like with Elijah, God often speaks and His presence is much like a tiny whispering sound.
