Why not electric tractors?

I want as many idiots as possible to buy EV's so they can experience the predictable surprises of EV ownership. There's really no better teacher than experience.
Apparently worldwide, people are adapting EV's at a very rapid rate;

Electric car sales keep rising and could reach around 17 million in 2024, accounting for more than one in five cars sold worldwide. Electric cars continue to make progress towards becoming a mass-market product in a larger number of countries. Tight margins, volatile battery metal prices, high inflation, and the phase-out of purchase incentives in some countries have sparked concerns about the industry’s pace of growth, but global sales data remain strong. In the first quarter of 2024, electric car sales grew by around 25% compared with the first quarter of 2023, similar to the year-on-year growth seen in the same period in 2022. In 2024, the market share of electric cars could reach up to 45% in China, 25% in Europe and over 11% in the United States, underpinned by competition among manufacturers, falling battery and car prices, and ongoing policy support.

That's nice. I'm patient. Do you own one?

Is that why you haven't bought one yet? You are afraid of change?
Two reasons that ICE cars still outnumber EV's in new sales. Cost, and the fact that many, like myself, drive their rigs until the wheels fall off. I hate car payments. But by 2030, the cost will be more than competitive compared to comparable ICE vehicles. And not just in cars.

Actually they do.
Many dealerships are stuck with lots full of unwanted EVs that have never sold. The carmakers do not want them back either. Their lots are full of unordered EVs. It's a huge financial loss across the board of a crap sandwich nobody wants to eat but they ALL are being forced to.

All carmakers (except for Tesla) are scrapping their production lines for EVs and are returning to ICE vehicles for this next year.
Sure they are still offering them....their lots are full of unwanted EVs. They might tweak them and slap a new model number (like an apple I-phone) but otherwise EVs are gone.

Give it up already.....you greenie weenies had your shot and you blew it on pie in the sky crap. You could have gone for hybrids and been successful....
Would have worked out for everyone. And fuel efficiency would have doubled at a minimum. But instead you weirdos went for crap that doesn't work, inconvenient, and saves nothing. Because EVs burn up tires three times as fast as current ICE vehicles due to the weight of the batteries.

And car tires are the most landscape polluting part of every vehicle. They don't degrade quickly and they have a low recycling opportunity. (Nobody wants the trash)

So....let's hear again how EVs are so wonderful.

PS: hybrids usually weigh less than even standard ICE vehicles and a ton less than EVs.

Actually already here. CATL has batteries that top 500 watts per Kg. And several labs have batteries that do much better than that.

All fine and good, but they are still just storage batteries. The idea is to get away from just storing energy on the car but the car actually /producing/ its own energy instead.

No, not yet. I have only got 200,000 on my small van, and only 160,000 on my big van. So it will be a while before I need another vehicle. By that time there should be good used EV's on the market.
Hahaha. Old crock just admitted all electric cars today are junk!

There's an EV parked in the town where I live that sits outside a house with an electric cable running over the pavement to it. So as the weeks rolled by, the girlfriend reported it to the council. It's no longer there, lol.

I'll have to try and see how the government are planning to fuck agriculture too. Hopefully Reform will scrap this crap.

I started working for SpaceX in October. I
Teslas everywhere.

Electric cars are a poorly executed decent idea.

Battery companies love electric cars that run on batteries. I have no idea how many batteries I have thrown out. 100's? 1000s.

Yep, soon electric cars will be successfully engineered to last 3 years without needing fuel or charging. Just use three years and then throw it away to sabmve the planet.

Everything green increases the use of heavy industry and fossil fuels

I'll be fully retired before all this EV madness is full on, so I won't be part of it. My two boys are in their 20's and they're not happy with this electric crap either.
