Why not electric tractors?

EV technology is still "pie in the sky".

If you need a 400 mile range for a single round of 18 holes ... then maybe it's your golf game that needs work ...

Golf carts are great at hauling around golf club set sized loads ... like groceries or laundry ... but a tractor hauling 34 tons? ... that's a ways off I think ... the good news is that railroad locomotives are diesel/electric ... we can shut the piston engine down when there's a "third rail" available ... skips batteries altogether ...

There are already many heavy duty EV heavy haulers on the highways. As with the advent of 500 watts per Kg batteries, there will be many more. And there will be batteries that exceed even the 500 watts per Kg by 2030.

You admitted you dont own one so quit pontificating as if you have any sort of personal experience
Miss Elektra, you are truly one dumb ass. I remember when Tesla's first came out, you said that they would never reach major production. Now there are millions of them, many different brands, on the highway. And their percentage of new sales increases every year, worldwide, and even here in the US. As stated before, I drive my vehicles until the wheels fall off. I hate making payments on something that is losing value every year.

No, the present EV's are not junk, just as the present ICE vehicles are not junk. But one does get what one pays for, and there are many good used vehicles that have the majority of their usable life left for a fraction of the cost of a new vehicle.
All opinion old crock of shit, your rules states if you dont link one is a filthy liar.

Old crock, you are not posting links, by your rule old crock of shit you are a filthy liar

Link, liar. Quote where I said that statement you filthy liar

Now old crock has admitted that the deep state has given $350 billion in subsidies to Elon Musk alone. Foreign car makers also recieve this subsidy from the u.s. taxpayer

Oh....
Hybrid Tractor trailer rigs can haul an extra 40% more weight than an EV tractor trailer rig because of the weight allowance WHILE experiencing 20% fuel savings at the same time.

Drive by wire systems are awesome. Each tire gets a motor and torque. For 18 wheels that's a minimum of 540 Horsepower all wheel drive with just 30 horse motors on each wheel. (They can be stronger than that....40's and 50's are not out of range)

And each wheel is independent of the others if one loses traction or increases traction over the others.

Edison Motors has several prototypes already looking at full production with standardized bolts, lights, and all the rest.

But they are hybrids. And most logistics (trucking freight) companies would kill for 20% fuel cost savings. The increased load weight is just another bonus. Hybrid tractor trailers weigh LESS than EVs. But they still get the extra weight allowances as a full EV truck does.

Ag is seriously looking at these as they tend to run overloaded as it is with field crops like grains. Hopper bottom trailers have a bad tendency to get overloaded by farmers and then have issues getting out of the fields. (Just normal stuff)

Hybrid trucks aren't much different from train engines . Diesel motors that generates electricity that then turns motors.

Electric tractors? When the batteries have enough energy density. After all, that would free the farmer from being dependent on outside sources for his fuel. Just install a lot of solar, and he makes his own. In the meantime, electrical machinery is being used in other industries;
Right now it only works in theory. Even if such miracle batteries appear, they (don't exist now and there are chemical limitations for obtaining a reliable battery not a laboratory one, whose energy density will be at least twice as high as the current ones), there is still the question of charging (and its efficiency) if you charge quickly (and that is exactly what farmers need) then you need megawatt charging power for one tractor, but this leads to a decrease in charging efficiency (up to 50%) and rapid degradation of the battery due to high charging currents

I saw this video short and was gobsmacked at the poor numbers electric tractors produced. Now imagine the farmers had to go electric, prices would at least triple. So imagine the cost of food in the stores and/or tariffs imposed to keep imports on the same cost level.

I'm holding out for a nuclear-powered tractor.
