Its military has been destroyed along with all of its military factories, and alternative to accepting Iran's offer is not to use nukes or large numbers of US troops but simply to force the opening of the Strait and to continue to demolish what remans of the ayatollah's regime.

I wonder how a blockade would work to essentially take away Irans power. Other than that, diplomacy is probably the answer. Ultimately the Neo-Cons want to end Trumps ideology of MAGA and open up a return to China-First global socialism and thus the media will repeat this decision for years and make it Trumps lasting legacy.
