I friend called me this morning and asked if I wanted any AK mags and drums as he had sold his AK. I asked how many and how much and he came by with the below.

DSCN6065.webp

I really did not need them but what the heck.....Two new Korean drums, one new Romanian drum/carrier, and three (loaded) 30 round steel AK mags.....$100.00.

One of the 30 rounders is East German, not sure of the other two.

I used to have one of those Jam-o-Matic AK drums.

They'd make for a better high-capacity Pez dispenser. :laughing0301:

Mine work just fine (Chi-Com & Romanian). You must be holding your mouth wrong. ;)

I've been wanting to try the Korean drums, it's claimed the run great. KCI make them and I know that they made excellent M1 Carbine mags. Much better (more robust) than even a NIW GI mag.

Is there a manufacture quality difference? I would think East German anything would be better than RUssian.

The EG and other former Com-Block mags are of top quality but the Soviets knew how to make quality AK mags too.

I suspect the worst ones are the Paki-made AK mags followed closely by the Egyptian made ones. Terrible springs.

Avoid any US made steel AK mags. Poly mags from Tapco and Magpul are very GTG.
