The truth may lie somewhere in between, but these two beliefs seem to have no room for compromise or concession. As a result, each side has dug itself into a position where fear of being wrong is greater than the satisfaction of being right.

I hope that that the hysteria caused by this unique situation will not repeat itself during the next election.
