Did you know that plants on certain islands of the Galapagos Islands have a plant eaten by the tortoises there that grows in a bush above the ground, so the tortoises on that specific island have necks that are much longer than those on other islands. That is evidence of evolutionary adaptation.

Ever looked at okapis versus giraffes? They look like long-necked zebras but are actually in the same family as giraffes. Why? Okapis live in the jungle where the leaves are in easy reach for their height. They are often called jungle zebras for that reason. You can thank my daughter for all of this information as she was a biology major in college and has forgotten more about animals than you will likely ever know.
