collect the wages? maybe buy two robots, both working 80 hours? or the cost of living adjusts because the work of robots brings down the price of everything? what's your thoughts on the robot work force?

You can buy a robot to work for you, but you will have to work at teaching it how to work for you.

Seeing as a personal robot with human like motions costs anywhere from $25K to $200K, depending on what you need it to do, you won't be making any money off it for at least a couple years.

But yeah, I'd say if you have that type of job where you do nothing but manual labor all day.......you could buy one and have it programmed to do your job for you. But you would be responsible for it breaking down, going haywire, breaking product, damaging other things, and/or being harassed and tinkered with by other employees.

I'd say the robot cost and the cost of insurance on this robot for the workplace would be more than you could get in a decent hourly wage, to cover all the costs of running it and maintaing it.

Plus, you'd have to talk the employer into it, and I think most of them wouldn't have it, because of the extreme liabilities.

My robot could be a Walmart greeter, That would be so easy to teach! or maybe a Starbucks Barista.... or perhaps an
Elvis impersonator in a nightclub... hell I don't know!

I was going to train my robot to work at USAID, but the three laws of robotics forbids it throwing away someone else’s money.

Probably not. Sex work in most places is frowned on.

I suppose you could move to Vegas?? :dunno:

I seen China selling the humanoid robots for like 800$? If I buy two and they work at a meat packaging plant, or some smelly dangerous nauseating job, that would be like 200k a year on a 1600 dollar investment? All we really need to do is build a plant that allows for optimal use of our robots? have round the clock workers that translates into 24 7 which is 168 hours a week per robot, so at 25 dollar an hour employment savings, lets say 4 robots, thats 16k a week in employee overhead saved?

I remember well the first robot I came across ... I immediately switch professions ... electronic test/technician is a minimum wage job these days ... and good luck finding work ... robot don't make human mistakes ... no need to pay someone to fix human mistakes ...

It's cheaper to make a new circuit board than it is to repair a broken one ... Apple told us to just break the old motherboard in half and install a new motherboard ... leaving the tech nothing but the power supply to work on ... boring ... low wage ... because of robots ...

Good grief! I'm going to get a robot to post for me on USMB. Why didnt I think of this before?

👉 Using a robot workforce can be advantageous in various scenarios, particularly when tasks are repetitive, hazardous, or require precision. Here are some factors to consider when deciding if and when to implement robotics in your operations:

1. Repetitive Tasks: If your workforce is engaged in monotonous tasks that require little variation, robots can increase efficiency and reduce fatigue.

2. Precision and Quality: Robots excel at tasks that demand high levels of accuracy, minimizing errors and improving product quality.

3. Hazardous Environments: In industries where safety is a concern, such as manufacturing or construction, robots can perform dangerous tasks, reducing the risk to human workers.

4. Cost Considerations: Evaluate the cost of implementation versus long-term savings. Robots may require a significant upfront investment but can lead to lower labor costs and increased productivity over time.

5. Scalability: If you anticipate business growth, a robotic workforce can help scale operations quickly without the challenges associated with hiring and training new employees.

6. Technological Integration: Ensure your existing systems can integrate with robotics. The right technology can enhance productivity and streamline operations.

Ultimately, assess your specific needs, potential ROI, and the readiness of your workforce and operations for robotics before making a decision. :)
