I think that if you compare the percentage of income to what is taxed that would even it out more. Make a lot of money you will pay more taxes and that is why they pay tax consultants to find those loopholes. Still if you had access to what they pay and what the average joe pays and then compare imcomes between the two. Determining percentage of taxes paid on income might even it out more.

You cannot compare Washington to Florida. A lot of people move to Florida because of the weather or more people or to make more money. Washington the state cannot compete no matter how much they lower taxes. The weather alone would turn people off. I use to live in Maine. Nice state but shelveling snow gets old.

There are also 12 other billionaires in WA--watch how fast they leave when the state taxes them more unfairly than they already do. This is in the federal tax code.

If you make less than +/- 130,000 a year, you pay SS taxes on every penny you make. If you make +/-130,001 a year... you pay $0.00 taxes on money made above that amount. The very wealthy actually take home more money later in the year than they do in the beginning.

So have the rich pay SS taxes on 100% of their income, but then when they retire, they also draw SS on 100% of what they paid in.

The average joe has tax break but does not have that higher income.

Higher income has tax breaks. It just they have more money in play.

Higer income does pay more in taxes but they can hire a tax preparer to find those loop holes.

The rest of us just do our own taxes or go to H&R Block of some other tax preparer.

Taxing them at a higher percent is already wrong. There should be no graduated income tax. The only fair way to do it is a flat tax.

Still, even if your statement were true, those rich people pay more taxes than anyone else. Their payment to a civilized society has been made.
