Why do some Americans believe they single handedly won WW2?

No, they weren't. The USA produced in two years, more than double the output of the entire rest of the world managed to produce in six.
Good point

FDR invoked a Socialist system

Shows they didn't value human life. And the Soviet army was over twice as large as the German army, and had far superior tanks at the beginning of the war.

As I said, the Germans were outnumbered, out equipped, and still almost won.
Usual racist bullshit about Russia not valuing human life, Russians are like other humans why would they not value the life of their sons and Husbands and Mothers etc?

Yes but what price Victory and the very survival of the Country?
Socialist countries don't value human life. You are EXPECTED to die for your country. Thus, Soviet losses of 26.5 million. German losses of 4.5 million, Japanese losses of 4 million.

The western countries on the other hand are grateful for your sacrifice, so the UK lost around 500,000, the US 400,000.

Notice the difference? Where a socialist country will send waves of bodies, we capitalist countries will send bombs.

Wrong, that was capitalism at its finest.
You fail to understand Capitalism
Capitalism is motivated by profit not patriotism.

FDR dictated what companies could make, what supplies they received, who they could employ, what wages they could pay, profit they could make……the very definition of socialism

Capitalist corporations could say….I can make more money producing cars than tanks
FDR wouldn’t let them

The Russian PEOPLE certainly do. Their socialist masters don't and didn't give a damn.

That's why to clear minefields they sent troops through them. The rounded up entire villages and marched them into German machine gun positions to run them out of bullets.

You have to be braindead to look at the casualty rates and ignore the fact that the communist party detested its own people.

The US drafted millions of soldiers. You were told to die for your country half a world away
Soviets were highly patriotic. They fought for their homeland. Their motivation was different

FDR did nothing of the sort. The ARMY placed orders with industry. Industry filled those orders.

In fact the unions tried to go on strike. Most famously at the Willow Run Ford plant that was making B-24s. The 90th Bomb Group airmen hunted them down and beat the ever loving shit out of them and forced the little assholes back to work.

The unions never tried that shit again.

Soviet soldiers were liquored up and pointed in a direction. If they didn't do as they were told the Commisar shot them.

The Commisars killed hundreds of thousands. At least 20,000 in stalingrad alone.

You're such an ignorant toad.

Doesn’t change that the Soviets were fighting an invading army
They used the tactics that they had

It seems to crop up quite a few times where posters claim everyone would be speaking German if the US hadn't won WW2.
A euphemism, it means "if you hadn't begged us to come to your defense imagine how different/miserable european life would be"...i.e. "we pulled your chestnuts from the fire, forget that and we abandon you"...
There's nothing wrong with an interest in history. But the distorted and chauvinist way the war's history has been presented in the popular imagination is a major problem.
what exactly is the "major problem"? if white liberalism has taught us anything its that they have no threshhold for the views of others and everything they even slightly disapprove of is a "major problem"
It's long since time Americans adopted a more realistic and sensible attitude towards World War II.
Why is it "long since time"?
The greatest error of historical fact in America's popular interpretation of the war is the idea that the United States won it pretty much single-handedly.
no, the greatest error is to have not informed the public that we had no business in europe at all and we should have minded our own business and watched from the sidelines with our popcorn as all we did was put a patient hell bent on taxing itself out of existence on life support while they allowed communism to infect the planet from their own backyard.
So despite actual history, do you still believe America single-handedly won WW2? Why? Is it something school taught you or your parents? Genuinely would like to know..
single handedly? semantics...we certainly turned the tide in yet another war devasting that continent, but as it turns out, whatever our contribution it seems to have been a huge mistake that looks thankfully as though we may be moving on from..."long since time" as well...what say you?

Under whose authority did the Army do that?
A Capitalist country would allow manufacturers to produce what makes the most profit and compete for scarce resources

We were not capitalist in WWII

That is why we won

Their tactics were shit. They outnumbered the Germans by three to one. Had five times as much artillery, had vastly superior tanks, and still managed to almost lose.

The western powers were ABSOLUTELY capitalist. That's why we won with fewer casualties.

Soviets were given little chance to hold off the invading German Army. The most advanced Army of that era

Most advanced with grossly inferior tanks? The Germans had a more professional army. That's it. They were only superior in tactics.
