Zone1 Why do members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Baptize for the Dead?

Eman 623:7
God doesn't care about nonsense. He loves mankind equally.
So??? That's why he gives all the opportunity in the spirit world that didn't have the opportunity that I have to accept through faith the Gospel of Jesus Christ in its fullness. Why should those who lived in a time or place where His Gospel was not preached or taught for whatever reason be damned and not have a choice and opportunity to enter into the kingdom of God?

And, if you are Muslim, why do you attempt for force people to join your religion or die? Catholics have a long history of the same thing killing people for not being Catholic.

When I say that I don't get angry when a person rejects the gospel, I am speaking of myself and not for every other person in the church.
But you are all angry. It's a fact. The Cult of Mormonism teaches its people to gety angry and that's what they do.

What do you mean, "so"? The Cult of Mormonism teaches anger and hate. Personally, I prefer love.
No it does not. But you do. Everytime you call us a cult that’s hateful and out of anger. Hypocrite!

Your God doesn't exist then. God cannot lie. When he says word for word that the only way to enter into the kingdom of God is by being baptized by water and the spirit, then if he lets it slide, he lied and is not God. The level of glorification in the resurrection is by our faith. And, as James stated, faith without works is dead. So, that's why we have commandments. laws, ordinances and order. By our works we show our faith as James states. Paul and the rest do. Back to baptism, these ordinances are earthly ordinances and can only be done here on earth with live human beings. The spirits of the dead reside in one of two places in spirit prison, paradise and hell. Those who still need proper baptisms of water and the spirit can't do it for themselves. So, an ordinance for baptism for the dead was instituted in the early Church through the Apostles to the various churches at the time. Corinthians for one of them and Paul mentions this required ordinance. And no, baptisms performed from non-authority ordained persons doesn't count. We have that proper authority priesthood. And eventually, everyone who ever lived on the earth will have this ordinance done for them. Just like the atonement Jesus Christ performed was for everyone whether or not they agreed to it.
One of the most amusing logical fallacies in the Bible is the verse that says, "All Scripture is inspired by God and beneficial". In other words, you believe the Bible is the word of God because it says so. Of course so does every other holy book, but never mind those.

My God may well not exist. But my belief is not based on whether He exists or not. My belief is not based on logic or faith or anything really. My belief exists. That's enough for me.

That was a good laugh! Belief definition: Trust, faith, or confidence in someone or something.
Now, you can believe in you. But, you aren't God.
As for the Bible, it's like a set of encyclopedias. Several separate books with different authors, some prophets, some apostles, some scribes and others as well. All to testify that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit exist. All are inspired of God and some by God himself. And yes, beneficial to those who will live by the principles of all those authors. What is wrong with that? I can testify I know God lives, Jesus Christ is Lord Jehovah, the Son of the Father God. I have been inspired by the inspired writings of the prophets and apostles of old and of today in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. And, because of this, I have two more testaments of Jesus Christ, The Pearl of Great Price and the Doctrine and Covenants. The Holy Ghost bears these witnesses to me that they are true.

I never said I was God. I believe in God. Because I do.

Uh huh. Hope that's working out for you.

Everytime you call us a cult that’s hateful and out of anger.
That doesn’t even make any sense.
Hypocrite!
I notice that you use words you don’t understand.
We have eyes to see and ears to hear.
Let’s hope so.
How many Christians have died in Muslim lands?
I don’t understand what point you’re trying to make but I can clearly see what point you are making. It’s called projection. It’s a silly projection. It’s like a cheating wife defending herself by claiming the neighbour’s wife also cheats. It doesn't work.:eusa_naughty: Mormonism is a Cult of Lies and Hatred – and you just proved it AGAIN.
... the Bible, it's …. Several separate books with different authors, All to testify that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit exist.
Absolutely correct. God didn’t write it nor did Jesus Christ write it. It's good that you can admit it.
All are inspired of God and some by God himself.
Absolutely false. Completely false. Totally false.
What is wrong with that?
It depends whether you take it seriously or not. HG Wells and Arthur C. Clarke also wrote a whole lot of fiction. If you accept it as fascinating story-telling or if you believe they are true stories is up to you and it reflects your mental stability. :26:
I can testify I know God lives, Jesus Christ is Lord Jehovah, the Son of the Father God.
That’s not true. To testify only means to proclaim. I can testify that I have seen a pack of Rotweilers purchasing cheese enchiladas at the Department of Motor Vehicles after closing hours. :pout:

Undoubtedly.
I have two more testaments of Jesus Christ, The Pearl of Great Price and the Doctrine and Covenants.
Ain’t that just wonderful.
The Holy Ghost bears these witnesses to me that they are true.
So, a ghost is all you need for proof. Looky here, you are in the grips of a Cult. Do you know what a Cult is? You’ve heard the term for sure but let me try to make it simple for you. You have been groomed to believe in ghosts and superstition and that the Cult of Mormonism is the ONLY way to find and fulfil the requirements regarding the meaning of life. Believing and cherishing it is your problem, not mine. Everyone wants to understand our so-called existence. But an enormous clue to the fact that Mormonism is a Cult is in the science fictional need to gain additional followers. That’s the guy in the white shirt, tie, and name tag, standing on the corner spouting hokus-pokus nonsense. That’s you. Getting back to the first line of this exchange - “The Cult of Mormonism teaches anger and hate”. Your own words prove it to be true. You are so filled with anger and hatred that you cannot conceal it. ⛔

Everything with you Muslims on this thread are negative and trashing others. I have my opinions on issues and voice them. But, I'm not calling people Satan worshippers or Satan cultists and stuff like that.

Same old stuff that doesn't work. You must get exhausted doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. But, you are insane. Now, to the scriptures, God inspires and he sometimes gives direct words to the prophets or apostles. And, you can know the words are true by reading them with an unbiased mind, study, meditated on the words, ask God with real intent, faith not wavering and without a double mine (biased). That's what I did and the Holy Ghost bore the truth to me. Even a vision the Jesus is the Christ, Lord of all the Universe.

I have no idea what you are talking about. I'm not a Muslim or an adherent of any other religion. My belief in God is not based on a book or prophet or messiah or anything else. It. Just. Is. Not sure why you're having trouble understanding that.

And I never trashed anyone in this thread! I did mock the practice of baptizing the dead by proxy. Because it's kinda stupid. There are billions of people who lived and died without being baptized and who never made it into genealogical records. What happens to them? I guess they're all fucked, amirite? Or will God make a special dispensation for them? If so, then why can't he do the same for everyone else who died before Mormonism was founded?

Telling the truth is not trashing unless it is truth itself that angers you. It is, isn’t it. The fact that you use “Muslim” (and single it out specifically) as an insult proves that you cannot justify the Cult of Mormonism and also that you harbour contemptuous racism. All in all, you demonstrate evidence to the fact that Mormonism really is a Cult …… plus, because you have turned your back on the Messiah and the Covenant with God it further proves that Mormonism is Satanic.

You say you believe in God? What God? God refers to all knowing and in full control. Meaning small minds like yours cannot understand that every soul born for even a split second is recorded in Heaven. Including their full DNA that will be used to resurrect all of the dead at the appointed time. And, every spirit of those born are in spirit prison separated from their bodies. All of us came from a more exalted sphere in Heaven as spirit children of our Father and Mother in Heaven, even Elohim. We chose to come to the earth and fulfill our destiny that we agreed to. Those who live beyond the age of accountability, 8 years of age, when given the opportunity to accept the Gospel of Jesus Christ, or in ancient days, the laws of their time given by God, will show by faith to accept or reject it. Part of our test here on earth. Currently, you are failing because I’m giving you that opportunity.
We all will die but eventually be resurrected into various glories of eternal existence, Celestial, Terrestrial and Telestial. Those who want Celestial glory will need to be baptized. But, that is an earthly ordinance and can only be done on earth with living humans acting in the place of the dead. Then, with DNA and more, all will be resurrected. Even the evil and wicked ones. That is God’s Grace.
