That analogy doesn't work. Redemption became a spiritual (or inward) reality through the act of one person, Christ crucified. It is a finished work for all of humanity. Baptism is an individual response of one person to redemption. Some have said that redemption is the provision of salvation, while baptism is the individual proclamation of a person choosing redemption by walking in the Way of Christ and Salvation in this life.
