I ll Speak for me. I have always been an Independent. I actually thought it was great that the county elected our first black President and pissed off a bunch of white supremacist assholes. But then the country turned. It became way too PC. In Ferguson the people looted for the sake of looting. Black Lives Matter started calling me racist and anti Semitic views grew strongly in the Democrat party. My parents, life long Democrats felt betrayed and left the party. Then the Dems did the unthinkable IMO, they labeled every Trump supporter a racist, bigot, homophobe, Islamaphobe. The identity politics angered me. I, a son of immigrants from the old Soviet Union, never owned slaves but now I was labeled a racist because of who I may or may not support and have to pay reparations?

The last straw was seeing people physically attack those wearing MAGA hats. And of course Democrats electing devout Muslim extremists to Congress. As a result I find myself on the same side as white asshole supremacists even though they hate me too but not as much as the Democrats it seems.

Hence I support logic, anti PC culture, right to vote who I want to vote for and of course unlike most Democrats I know gender cannot be changed. You are who you are.

called human nature. we want to be understood more often than understand. it usually takes time, patience and age before you slow down and listen more. but these days people have "normalized the extremes" and if they don't like you, you are a "nazi" and we make those words meaningless in order to salvage our own emotional turmoil. that's the culture this PC nation has created. when an OK symbol can be banned cause some people called it racist, you will get pushback from those who are tired of the bullshit and no, they won't listen to people trying to explain how a symbol that was not racist for thousands of years suddenly became so in order to appease their lack of emotional stability.

a lot of it in my opinion also has to do with never telling kids they are wrong. participation trophies. you didn't lose it just wasn't fair. we've not taught people what it's like to lose and how to overcome it - we tell them the system screwed them over. that will cause people to be stubborn cause they were never challenged, just coddled.

i'm all for open conversation of all ideas. wish we had more of it. but more often than not people don't talk to learn, they talk to tell you why you are wrong. when you don't start off on the same page with the same goals, it goes badly as frustration makes you dig in and work harder to be understood when much of the time the differences between us are more in our minds than in reality.

we're all usually just too stubborn to notice cause that would mean we have to consider the possibility of being wrong.

and we didn't teach our kids being wrong is a valid way of growth.

sure it does - liberals pushing things to extreme nature and change of ideologies in where people pee and constantly berating their way of life is going to cause pushback. when we go from "this flag must go" to the OK symbol being a sign of racism, the left has gone WAY too far and reactions such as billy's are quite normal. what isn't normal is not accepting the fact these actions spawn these counter actions.
