Ahh...the rest of the story--these are detainees that have been held for more than a year despite their fitting the criteria for asylum. The local ICE drug their feet...until the courts forced them to do their job. Now they're being vindictive and releasing these people with no notice, not letting them contact their support structures and otherwise fucking with them. One guard arranged for a $600 cab ride...what a pal.
Most are Cuban...and most are going to Miami, go figger~
