Power & control over opposing folks/groups is the major driving force that fuels narcissistic afflicted individuals. Again.........I don't know where you get your information but, its not from the Holy Scriptures, the Word of God or History Actual.

Of course.....there were no Crusades or Spanish Inquisitions (sword point conversion or violence was never authorized in the Word of God), all from the 1100s thru the 1300s, but this did not stop ROME form giving the world both the crusades and the torture of the inquisitions, and........it was never against Catholic Policy, even up to and including the death penalty as a heretic for a lay person to own or even possess a copy of the Holy Bible, Priests with the education to use the dead language of LATIN were not the only authorized translators of scriptures..and there was no PROTESTANT MOVEMENT to escape the state mandated religion of Roman Catholicism.....once the printing press was invented and the lay person had access to the King James Translation. There was no movement to the New World to escape such a tyrannical state mandate of ONE RELIGION, The early settlements like Plymouth Rock and the Pilgrams never existed only to escape ......Roman Catholicism. lt's all a figment of History Actual's imagination.

And of course the very first amendment to the US Constitution does not forbid the Federal Government from authorizing only 1 religion to the exclusion of all others( Congress shall make no law for the establish of religion), such as existed in Europe.......there is no Freedom of Religion ever mentioned in the US Constitution.
