Why are Mexican, Canadian, and EU Tariffs on US Goods Okay?

"Mexico - Import Tariffs

Includes information on average tariff rates and types that U.S. firms should be aware of when exporting to the market.

There are no tariffs for products made in the United States that meet NAFTA rules of origin requirements. However, there are several exceptions and caveats noted below that may affect overall pricing of U.S. exports. See http://export.gov/FTA/nafta/index.asp for a thorough explanation of NAFTA certificates of origin as well as the “What’s My Tariff” tool. The U.S.–Mexico–Canada Agreement (USMCA) will adjust rules of origin for some products, thus affecting their tariff treatment. For future developments and information on eventual agreements in connection with the USMCA, visit the Office of United States Trade Representative website at www.ustr.gov. Few U.S. exports are subject to antidumping duties that limit access to the Mexican market. A list of these products may be found at the U.S. International Trade Administration’s page on Mexico Anti-Dumping and Countervailing Duty Measures."

Why are these exceptions okay, but US tariffs are not?
Mexico did not IMPOSE tariffs on the U.S. If there were any tariffs, they were talked about and then compromised with. We have a trade agreement with Mexico. Key word is "agreement". Tariffs is something you IMPOSE not COMPROMISE ON.

You truly are 100% wrong with this OP. Why don't you recognize it?

I'm interested in the several exceptions and caveats, but Google is flood with the current news.

Mexico imposed millions of illegal aliens on the U.S. That negates any 'agreement.' You're such a bot.

The United States has had a free trade agreement with Mexico since January 1, 1994, when the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) came into effect; however, this agreement was replaced by the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) on July 1, 20

You do understand what "free trade agreement" means, don't you. Free means no tariffs at all!!!

So you are willing to put your life in the hands of a gambler?

What will you do (or feel) when he loses, and it ruins your life? will you forgive him then?
Now tell us what a wonderful job Biden did for the U.S......idiot.

Not across the board
So? Theyve been suckering us for BILLIONS. Im not down with that. Not one bit. Its lame and it needs to be corrected, and it will be good for our country if it is corrected.

He's far better than the dementia patient we had and the complete idiot that the Dems ran against Trump.

Whether Biden was a good president or not is not really important because he did not take any position where he gambled with welfare of the nation. All presidents do good things and bad things and we are either better or worse, but we are not in a total loss..

Gambling is a win or LOSE proposition and losing is costly.

Why you feel the need to insult me for saying what I said is ridiculous. What I stated is common sense. There is NO DOUBT that Trump is gambling with our lives. If he loses on any one issue it will be a big loss simply because he was doing an extreme and as such, the loss is extreme. Biden was a moderate. No loss was (or would be) extreme.

My father was a gambler and he was rich twice and poor twice and died poor. I was a gambler and lost all my money (and clients) in 1981 and though I recovered from that loss, I did end up losing my wife and alienating my kids to this day. That gamble cost me big time.

As a gambler that has experienced the consequences, I do not want a gambler for president.

No and I have no desire to do so. Free trade is what we had and agreed on. Your several exceptions and caveats where part of the agreement or part of the situation and has nothing to do with Mexico TRYING to hurt us by imposing tariffs. If there were tariffs involved, it was because it was needed for their economic health and as such, understandable and acceptable. That is a right all nations have..............their economic health.

But at least Biden was a moderate that never went to the extremes. Extremes hurt deeply and for a long time when they go bad.

I do want you to answer the question and from a general point of view.

In your life, would you put your welfare in the hands of a gambler? He could make you rich, but he could also ruin you for life. Are you willing to take that risk?

So you're saying Biden didn't "gamble", suggesting he knew exactly what he was doing?
And the exorbitant inflation didn't have anything do with the "welfare" of the nation. Your fricken word salad is nothing but spinning BS.

Let me ask a stupid question. Was this (sending 10,000 troops to the border) something that was discussed before and the president of Mexico refused to do?

If not, was this "ploy" from Trump necessary?

I wasn't present at their negotiations, so I can't comment directly. I'm pretty sure Trump knows more about what is going on at the border than we do, so I suspect securing our borders is necessary.

Let me ask a stupid question. Will you be happy, if Trump greatly cuts drug overdose deaths in the US? How about, if he greatly decreases the number of illegal aliens entering the US?

Biden was out of his mind.

Yes, we all make calculated risks. Have you ever heard of General Eisenhower? How about George Washington?
Do you think they took calculated risks?
