Why are Mexican, Canadian, and EU Tariffs on US Goods Okay?

No one wants to pay higher prices. But if we can get countries to engage in more equitable trade relationships, prices will come down. In the process, if we can use the opportunity to enhance security at the Border, that is good too.

I guess Democrats hate Trump so much they would rather go back to prices skyrocketing due to big spends and 10 million illegals crossing the border.

Well, they voted for more of the same with Kamala.

They don't want anything from Trump even if it's good for them. They have convinced themselves that it's not possible for Trump to do anything good for them anyway. Is Biden did exactly the same thing they would praise him for it, call him a god.
But because it's Trump they would rather die.

No answer to the OP question?
I truly did not want to make you look like an idiot, but you have forced my hand

Your article about tariffs from Mexico does not apply to the U.S. Those tariffs are for other countries

We have had a free trade agreement with Mexico for many years. It was originally NAFTA but when Trump was president, he changed it to USMCA. since 2020

Mexico is part of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), a free trade agreement that went into effect on July 1, 2020. The USMCA replaced the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), which was signed in 1994.

The free trade agreement was to specifically done for this: U.S. exporters are encouraged to carefully examine the list of impacted products and be aware of the opportunity to take advantage of the USMCA special compliance and tariff treatment to see potential exports to Mexico.

On a general note though, tariffs are often necessary but each administration has to examine the pros and cons of doing them and to what degree. In 2017 the tariffs that the U.S. put on China cost us more than whatever benefits it brought. Wee the citizens paid more, many of our companies (like Agriculture suffered big losses) and the costs were higher than the profits.

These tariffs are being done more for revenge than for benefit to us (almost all analysts agree and the WSJ said it was the most stupid move ever mad).

On thing you constantly ignore and that is that Trump is incompetent (does not know what he is doing) and he does not listen to anyone so as a administration (group of people) they can all come up with a good plan. Things that are done that way are almost always going to end up a failure. You refuse to see what is staring you in the fac.

The tariffs were clearly outlined by Trump as a message to Canada and Mexico to do more of their share in stopping drugs (specifically Fentanyl) from crossing into the U.S. from their borders. It had 0 to do with 'revenge' you just reached up your ass and pulled that out.

Trump has done more good in less than a month than Biden did in 4 years. In fact, Biden did more to tear down America.

To say Trump is 'incompetent' is ludicrous and full of Marxist propaganda. I usually just give your leftist, radical Marxist screeds a laughing face but, I thought I'd take the time to tear this one apart. BTW, all your posts are too long and filled with Marxist propaganda.

"Trump confirms delay of U.S. tariffs on Canada for at least 30 days

Raquel Coronell Uribe

Trump said he is “pleased” with the “initial outcome” of U.S. discussions with Canada, in which the two countries agreed to hold off on imposing tariffs for at least 30 days.

“As President, it is my responsibility to ensure the safety of ALL Americans, and I am doing just that. I am very pleased with this initial outcome, and the Tariffs announced on Saturday will be paused for a 30 day period to see whether or not a final Economic deal with Canada can be structured. FAIRNESS FOR ALL!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Trump's post came shortly after Trudeau announced the pause on tariffs."

Even economic alliances where we are clearly disadvantaged?
Disadvantaged?

Trump bitched about NAFTA and renegotiated it on his terms

First thing he does is violate his own treaty

Economic alliances have to be fair and Trump will make trade fair which will strengthen alliances.
Why did Trump sign the revised NAFTA agreement if he didn’t think it was fair?

Is he stupid?

From your post it seems more like he made NAFTA better. Trumps 'own terms' are America's 'own terms' he is POTUS.......Learn to live with it. You'll feel better.... :itsok:

If Trump “fixed” NAFTA

Why did he violate it

How long is the socialist left going to get away with the "envy the rich" game? It seems that the only rich people the left wing hypocrites admire are career politicians and career criminals. Same thing?

You negotiate with allies; you don’t threaten them.

Nobody is doing that now. It’s about Rule of Law and the way Trump is trashing it.

Well, they sure didn't care much about watching their borders before Trump did they? Guess it took threats of tariffs to make them pay attention. Trump plays hardball.
