Why are Mexican, Canadian, and EU Tariffs on US Goods Okay?

Great, with Biden and Obama, how many times was the U.S. credit rating dropped?
Once again, if you look you can always find something in everyone to support your opinion. Nonetheless, it is the extremes that do the big damage and that is what is happening now with Trump.

Because it is level.

The problem is Americans like Chinese goods more than Chinese like American goods.

(Or any other nationality you can substitute for Chinese).
You need a serious lesson in economics. If a nation constantly comes back with retaliatory tariffs and those tariffs remain higher than the ones US charges on their goods, how is that level?

No, they had tariffs on us LONG before Trump put tariffs on them. :cuckoo:
funny trump caves tariffs.webp

Stop the flow of guns into Mexico! :laughing0301:

More guns flow into Mexico than flow into the U.S. — a fact that Vice President J.D. Vance was corrected on during the vice-presidential debate.

In Trump's readout of the call, the White House neglected to mention that the new president agreed to stop U.S. guns crossing the border, CNBC confirmed.

American Cars have a 0.5% share in Germany.

For you dimocrap scum, that is: Out of every thousand (1,000) cars sold in Germany, 5 (five) of them are American made.

Meanwhile, we imported $17B (Seventeen BILLION Dollars) worth of cars from Germany. That is NOT counting the ones made here.

Japan is even worse, AFAIK. They hide the stats because they know they're bad. The Koreans are cool, they're like, "Fuck you, this what we do." They also don't have tariffs on American Cars. The Japanese and Germans also play silly games with their 'safety' requirements and emissions. Most of which are total bullshit.

So, let's talk about tariffs, dimocraps. Or not. All you're capable of is lying.

Then there's the other games they play -- I knew a guy one time that invested in a Ship loaded with vegetables headed for Japan. Perishable. The Japanese kept the ship in port long enough for the cargo to rot. He lost a bunch of money.

Why did they do it? Don't know for sure. They weren't happy with a Trade Deal we forced them to take. So he (and a bunch of other investors) paid the price.

/---/ What if the other countries started the trade wars?
President Trump has repeatedly criticized the EU for treating the US car industry unfairly, threatening to raise the tariff on European cars to 25 percent, from the current rate of 2.5 percent. The European Union currently imposes a 10 percent tariff on US cars, in fact creating an unlevel playing field for US car makers trying to sell American-made models to European markets.

As the following chart shows, automobile trade between the United States and the EU is a fairly lopsided affair. In 2018, the EU exported 1,155,488 cars worth $43.1 billion to the US, while the US shipped 267,653 cars worth $6.3 billion to the 28 EU member states. In an interview with German newspaper Welt am Sonntag, Germany’s Secretary of Commerce Peter Altmaier said that the EU would be open to dropping the levy on American cars altogether, but only if it comes as part of a broader tariff agreement.

Cell, my good friend. Why do you think the EU imposed that 25% tariff? It was in response to Trump tariffing the EU on steel and aluminum in 2018 for no reason. The US doesn't even import that much steel and aluminum from the EU to begin with. Industries here were not threatened. Nothing happens without a reason. As usual, Trump creates a problem of his own making and then is forced to backtrack or convince people he had nothing to do it and it's other governments to blame!

/—-/ Reading comprehension skills are not your forte. EU didn’t put a 25% tariff on US cars. We might put 25% on European cars.
“threatening to raise the tariff on European cars to 25 percent, from the current rate of 2.5 percent.”

Cell, you got me. My entire argument has been completely invalidated because I mistakenly typed 25% instead of 10%.

Ho-hum... "economic lessons" from the party that brought us 10 of the last 11 recessions.

Soon to be 11 of the last 12.
