Why American Heritage Will Be Reduced To Smoldering Ruins

Part two cameras in classrooms: the dinosaur story

This is what cameras in classrooms will be for all but the tiniest of cases and it will drive all remaining good teachers out

"Miss Smith why didn't you listen to Johnny talk after recess?"

"It was math time,it was another dinosaur story and you know how long those are"

"Yes but we are teaching him to express himself"

"I have 20 other students here who need to learn math"

"It's very sad you're not seeing to my child's individual needs"

If anyone does not think this will go on daily they do not understand 2021 America

It is the fantasy of every conservative that recording teachers would catch them in the act of CRT. Wrong. Among serious privacy concerns for students it will force really good teachers to spend time we don't have explaining things we shouldn't have to. For many parents this would be daily. So my question is are we going to get secretaries to field questions that come up from the camera.

This is not a small concern. The general public is rude and demanding theses days. And selfish. Ask anyone in customer service.

(Kids are not, thank God. Kids are superior humans, really)

What is it that teachers would want to hide from parents?

Any teacher who fears being 'overheard' is a charlatan.

"So my question is are we going to get secretaries to field questions that come up from the camera."

What sort of questions do you anticipate?

If my child was forced to sit through this propaganda, I sure would have some questions.

The 20-minute video being shown in American classrooms entitled The

Story of Stuff
; a catchy title to appeal to grade school kids. This piece of anti-capitalist propaganda was

put together by Greenpeace member Annie Leonard.

And, if I saw this, I certainly would have questions:

.” It appears the Chicago Teachers Union (CTU), which held a solidarity rally this Saturday afternoon, …. seemed more like a convention of far-left radicals than the image of clean-cut teachers the CTU would like to project. Thousands of red-shirted Chicago Teachers Union members flooded into Chicago’s aptly named Union Square Park at noon today to demonstrate for solidarity and workers’ rights. Protesters embraced radical revolutionary imagery, wearing shirts with Che Guevara on them and holding signs emblazoned with the “iron fist.”

Occupy Chicago and anarchist groups as well as the Progressive Labor Party, International Socialists, SEIU, AFL-CIO, and others stood alongside teachers chanting for solidarity…”

I agree and it will further pull our society apart as the hatred for police has done. People who say some schools and teachers are quite bad have a point. People who say the things PC said above---half a year for high pay--well that's just an agenda. Great, keep pulling us apart. Let it burn.

Conservatives believe that there are moral truths, right and wrong, and that these truths are permanent.

Conservatives believe that custom and tradition result in individuals living in peace. Law is custom and precedent.
These seem to be contradictory and therefore fabricated ideology. We all know customs and traditions vary from one society to another, from one time to another, hardly permanent truths. Got an example of a permanent truth?

"...why aren't people flocking there?"

You don't know????

You'd best take notes on the following:

“Obama admin made schools more dangerous

1.There’s been a sea of change in school discipline over the past five years. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan was convinced that the striking racial disparity in school suspensions was “not caused by differences in children.” According to Duncan and others, students of color were being discriminated against by their teachers, fostering a “school-to-prison pipeline [that] must be challenged every day.”

2.…the Obama administration issued federal guidance putting school districts on notice that even if their discipline policy was “neutral on its face” and “administered in an evenhanded manner,” they could be subject to a federal civil rights investigation if minorities were suspended at a higher rate

.

3.An examination of the NYC School Survey shows that, in the eyes of students, school climate has deteriorated significantly from the 2013-14 to the 2015-16 school years. The deterioration was most dramatic in schools that serve 90+% students of color, and especially striking compared to those same schools in the last two years of the Bloomberg administration. Under Bloomberg, physical fighting became less frequent at 30% of schools and more frequent at 28%; under de Blasio, it became less frequent at 14% of schools and more frequent at 50%. Under Bloomberg, peer respect improved at 36% of schools and deteriorated at 30%; under de Blasio, it improved at 19% of schools and deteriorated at 58%.

4. …attorney John Choi noted that the number of assaults against school staff tripled from 2014 to 2015, terming it a public health crisis.” That’s a tragic result for a policy intended to make school discipline more fair for students of color.

5. In Tampa Bay, Fla., 66% of teachers said that the new policy did not make schools more orderly. In Santa Ana, Calif., as well, 66% of teachers said the new system was not working. In Denver, Colo., 75% of teachers said that the new system did not improve student behavior. In Madison, Wis., only 13% of teachers thought that discipline reform was having a positive effect. But in Baton Rouge, La., 60% of teachers said there was an increase in violence or violent threats from students, and in Syracuse, N.Y., two-thirds of teachers said they were worried about their safety at work.

6. …Marc Bruno, a teacher who got kicked in the head by a student said: “We have fights here almost every day.... The kids walk around and say, ‘We can’t get suspended — we don’t care what you say.’”

7…. schools have become less respectful, more disorderly places for millions of students. The bitter irony is that the effort to limit the “school-to-prison pipeline” has likely only increased its flow.

8. The Obama administration issued “guidance” coercing school districts to second-guess their teachers’ judgment on how to maintain discipline and order. The Trump administration should rescind that mis-guidance, ….’

9. "Despite committing a string of arrestable offenses on campus before the Florida school shooting, Nikolas Cruz was able to escape the attention of law enforcement, pass a background check and purchase the weapon he used to slaughter three staff members and 14 fellow students because of Obama administration efforts to make school discipline more lenient."

10. …a strategy, adopted by more than 50 other major school districts nationwide, allowing thousands of troubled, often violent, students to commit crimes without legal consequence.

…FBI agent Michael Biasello told RCI. “He probably wouldn’t have been able to buy the murder weapon if the school had referred him to law enforcement."

…an Obama administration effort….to slash arrests and ensure that students, no matter how delinquent, graduated without criminal records….Applications for federal grants reveal that Runcie’s plan factored into approval of tens of millions of dollars in federal funding from Duncan's department…. they also came with threats of federal investigations and defunding for districts that refused to fully comply.” Behind Cruz's Florida Rampage, Obama's School-Leniency Policy | RealClearInvestigations
11. "Broward County adopted a lenient disciplinary policy similar to those adopted by many other districts under pressure from the Obama administration to reduce racial ‘disparities’ in suspensions and expulsions,” said Peter Kirsanow, a black conservative on the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights in Washington. "In many of these districts, the drive to 'get our numbers right' has produced disastrous results, with startling increases in both the number and severity of disciplinary offenses, including assaults and beatings of teachers and students.”

For example, in St. Paul, Minn., a high school science teacher was “beaten and choked out” by a 16-year-old student, who allegedly came up behind him, called him a “f--king white cracker,” and put him in a stranglehold, before bashing his head into a concrete wall and pavement. The student, Fon’Tae O’Bannon, got 90 days of electronic home monitoring and anger management counseling for the December 2015 attack.

The instructor, John Ekblad, who has experienced short-term memory loss and hearing problems, blames the Obama-era discipline policies for emboldening criminal behavior, adding that school violence “is still rising out of control.”

"...a free market capitalist?"

Schools are run by socialists and worse.

My suggestions:

Cannot send their children to private school. If you wish to teach in government schools, you should commit to educating your own children in these schools. ( Public school teachers are more likely than others of their income to send their children to private school.)

Teachers can decide how many students in their class. Pay will be commensurate with the number.

If there is no improvement on standardized tests, there will be considerable deductions from salary.( American schoolchildren perform worse on education tests for every year they spend in a public school. In fourth grade, the earliest grade for which international comparisons are available, American students outperform most other countries in reading, math and science. Fourth-graders score in the 92nd percentile in science, the 58th percentile in math and the 70th percentile in reading, where they beat 26 of 35 countries, including Germany, France and Italy. But by the eighth grade, American students are only midrange in international comparisons.

By the 12th grade -- after receiving the full benefits of an American education -- Americans are near the bottom. With an additional eight years of a public school education under their belts, Americans fall from the 92nd percentile in science to the 29th percentile. While American fourth-graders are bested only by South Korea and Japan in science, by 12th grade, the only countries the American students can beat are Lithuania, Cyprus and South Africa.)

Civilianization of schools. Administrative positions will not be related to teaching positions, based on the principle that these do not require teaching credentials, but rather computer science, business experience, etc. Salaries will be substantially lower. (While 80 percent of the employees of private schools are teachers, only half the employees of public schools are. The rest are "coordinating," "facilitating" or "empowering" something or other.)

Any functions that are not education-related should be out- sourced based on competitive bidding, with contracts for a set time period. These shall include food-service, maintenance as well as transportation and after-school functions.

Bonuses and perks will be assigned to schools and/or individuals based on awards, scholarships, contests won by their students.

Teachers will not be relieved of teaching assignments for any other work. Exams graded outside of the school. Sports will not be considered a teaching or academic subject.

1. "Across the Board, Scores Drop in Math and Reading for U.S. Students
The latest results from the Nation’s Report Card show declines in student performance across demographics.

2. MATH AND READING SCORES for fourth- and eighth-graders in the United States dropped since 2017, and the decrease in reading achievement has government researchers particularly concerned.

3. "Over the past decade, there has been no progress in either mathematics or reading performance, and the lowest performing students are doing worse," Peggy Carr, associate commissioner of the National Center for Education Statistics, said during a press call Tuesday.

4. ...declines in reading at both grades were also seen at all levels of achievement, whether students were high- or low-achieving, with the exception of the highest achieving fourth graders.

5. "Over the long term in reading, the lowest performing students – those readers who struggle the most – have made no progress from the first NAEP administration almost 30 years ago," she said.

6. ...the scores of lower performing students declined in three of the four grade-subject combinations and those drops are what accounted for the overall drop in average scores."
