Who was the best president in the past 20 years?

Hi. Just joined. If this should be under history, I am sorry, but I thought here was appropriate. Anyway, I've gotten surprisingly similar answers in the past from extreme liberals and conservatives of my profs, some of who knew them going back decades more. Curious how others see it. Anyway, I hope you enjoy!
Reagan.

Who was the best president in the past 25 years?

The current president of the United States of America.

The worse?

Bush, obviously. He will do down in history as perhaps the worse ever.
Hey idiot, the current socialist in chief isn't any better then the scumbag clinton. Bush beats both of them hands down.

everyone knows how right wing I am, But Klinton got the best presidency.
the recession he inherited was minor, and nothing like the mess Regan inherited.
Reagan did a lot with what he was given
double digit inflation
double digit unemployment
double digit interest rates

That only covers 2 presidents (besides the current one, which has an asterisk). If you're asking who was better, Clinton or Bush, the answer is Bush. Didn't care much for him but at least he didn't give nuclear secrets away to the Chinese to finance his re-election campaign.

Why do you guys say such stupid things?
You don't know much, do you? Loral Space and Communications paid China to launch communications satellites for them. 2 rockets crashed, and China requested assistance to fix the problem. Bernard Schwartz, the CEO of the company, didn't want to bear the cost of sending experts to China to correct it, so he requested permission from the State Dept. to send China the technology to fix the problem themselves. The problem was that this technology could be used for military purposes.

Warren Christopher (Sec. of State) said "no ******* way". Warren was probably the only Clinton cabinet member with any sense of integrity or patriotism. Anyway, the request was denied. Schwartz, not wanting to pay the cost of sending experts to China to straighten out the problem with the rockets, asked Bill Clinton to do something about it (Schwartz had contributed more than $600,000 to Clinton's political campaigns).

Clinton then sent the request for technology transfer to the Commerce Dept. (headed by Ron Brown). and told Ron to approve the transfer. He did. Shortly after that, Christopher resigned. The Chinese got the technology (which enabled them to develop ICBMs, which they could not previously do). Now China has the ability to reach U.S. soil with their missiles.

Later on, Ron Brown was sent to Croatia, and his plane crashed into a mountain. When his body was recovered, there was a hole in his skull the exact size of a .45 caliber bullet. At his funeral, Bill Clinton was caught on camera laughing, and as soon as he saw the camera, he immediately got a somber look on his face as though he was grieving.

I remember watching it on tv. Brown was one of many people associated with Clinton who lost his life under questionable circumstances. Monica could have ended up that way if Linda Tripp hadn't exposed the affair.

Ron Brown?s Death Still A Mystery

Ron Brown: Evidence Of A Cover up | WHAT REALLY HAPPENED

Yes, I remember that. Clinton was also a proven liar. So is Hilary and if Chelsie ever gets old enough to run for any office, will be just as despicable as her parents.

My vote is George W Bush because historians will not have found ANY president with a more biased anti-Bush MSM then when he was President and at the same time had to FACE 4 (four) cataclysmic events !
Obviously most people have forgotten this because the biased MSM has Never put such a chronology of world changing events such as these faced by Bush!

He had All the MSM bashing him.. you never heard this till now I'm SURE!

The editor of NewsWeek Evan Thomas thinks so...
Well, our job is to bash the president, that's what we do." --

And so all the while the MSM was bashing Bush and putting ALL the negatives stories Bush was having to deal with Four (4) Major events that have NEVER in the history of the USA came together in an 8 year period!

1) Dot.com bust cost $5 trillion in lost market value.. this means every year for 30 years now starting in 2000 the federal revenue is over $66 billion written off against taxes owed???
How many people LOST jobs due to the bust??
According to the Los Angeles Times, when the dot-com bubble burst, it wiped out $5 trillion dollars in market value for tech companies. More than half of the Internet companies created since 1995 were gone by 2004 -
and hundreds of thousands of skilled technology workers were out of jobs.
The dot-com bubble: How to lose $5 trillion ? Anderson Cooper 360 - CNN.com Blogs

2) Did YOU forget that 9/11 occurred and it cost $2 trillion over the next 30 years again $33 billion will NOT BE PAiD.. was that Bush's fault?
Jobs lost in New York owing to the attacks: 146,100 JUST in New York!!
Year 2001: September 11 Terrorist Attacks
The 9/11 terrorist attacks were the events that helped shape other financial events of the decade. After that terrible day in September 2001, our economic climate was never to be the same again. It was only the third time in history that the New York Stock Exchange was shut down for a period of time. In this case, it was closed from September 10 - 17. Besides the tragic human loss of that day, the economic loss cannot even be estimated. Some estimate that there was over $60 billion in insurance losses alone.
Approximately 18,000 small businesses were either displaced or destroyed in Lower Manhattan after the Twin Towers fell. There was a buildup in homeland security on all levels. 9/11 caused a catastrophic financial loss for the U.S.
The Top 10 Financial Events of the Decade

3) $1 trillion in written off losses due to the WORST Hurricane SEASONS in history!

The worst Katrina?? made landfall in Louisiana as a Category 3 in 2005. It took 1,836 lives and caused $81.2 billion in damages. Andrew slammed into South Florida in 1992 as a Category 5. It caused 40 deaths and $30 billion in property damage. More than 250,000 people were left homeless and 82,000 businesses were destroyed or damaged.
Hurricane Katrina ALONE! Year 2005: Hurricanes Katrina and Rita
On August 25, 2005, Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast of the U.S. as a strong Category 3 or low Category 4 storm. It quickly became the biggest natural disaster in U.S. history, almost destroying New Orleans due to severe flooding.

Hurricane Rita quickly followed Katrina only to make matters worse. Between the two, more than $200 billion in damage was done. 400,000 jobs were lost and 275,000 homes were destroyed. Many of the jobs and homes were never to be recovered. Hundreds of thousands of people were displaced and over 1,000 were killed and more are missing. The effect on oil and gasoline prices was long-lasting.

400,000 jobs due to Hurricanes Katrina/Rita
145,000 jobs in NYC alone due to 9/11
300,000 jobs lost due to dot.com busts.

Almost 1 million jobs alone from those 3 events AND Obama cries about Tropical storm Isaac?????

DO YOU understand NONE of that was Bush's fault!
$100 billion a year in LOST federal revenue! DO YOU understand and NOT one dollar the fault of Bush!

Finally the 4th event AGAIN I am sure YOU never knew and the MSM NEVER reported!!!

Obviously YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT HAPPENED in the Economic Terrorist attack of 9/18/2008!!!!!

HERE Read this and see why Bush may have looked like he was going to cry!!!

"The near economic collapse on Thursday (Sept 18,2008), at 11am the Federal Reserve noticed a tremendous draw-down of money market accounts in the U.S., to the tune of $550 billion was being drawn out in the matter of an hour or two.
The Treasury opened up its window to help and pumped a $105 billion in the system and quickly realized that they could not stem the tide.
We were having an electronic run on the banks.
They decided to close the operation, close down the money accounts and announce a guarantee of $250,000 per account so there wouldnÂ’t be further panic out there.

If they had not done that, their estimation is that by 2pm that afternoon, $5.5 trillion would have been drawn out of the money market system of the U.S., would have collapsed the entire economy of the U.S., and within 24 hours the world economy would have collapsed.
It would have been the end of our economic system and our political system as we know it.

Four MAJOR EVENTS that NO other President has had to FACE while at the same time have antagonistic "BASHING BUSH" Media will provide historians the reason to call GW Bush one of the GREAT Presidents to FACE major economic issues, Major war issues and Major weather disaster issues.. all in the same 8 year period!

I like Bush II as he is a good man and I also like his father. They have made a lot of $$ but the Bush family has been great for America in many ways. I really like the Bush first ladies also. Class with generosity and gracious.
As a President the first one was far better than the second. Bush II received and accepted too much bad advice all through his Presidency.

Ronald Reagan was the worst thing to happen to the middle class since the Great Depression. His trickle down "reaganomics", and union busting policies, have resulted in thirty years of middle class wage stagnation while CEO's have seen their compensation rise to the largest percentage of wealth since the 1920's. The last three years of his second term he was a shell of a man being led around by Nancy's astrologists and neocon a-holes.

My wages went way up after Reagan. I guess what you are saying is that Reagan created a problem and Clinton didn't fix it, he had 8 years.

What we are seeing today was predicted back during Clinton. A "great sucking sound of jobs fleeing the country" was the prediction if Clinton passed the "free" trade treaties. He did and we are seeing the results. Reagan did nothing to the Unions, the Unions didn't do a damn thing for themselves.

BTW did you know that the earned income tax credit was Reagan's?

NAFTA was a Reagan idea as he first came up with the idea and started the ball rolling.

Clinton. Not even close. Make that the past 38 years. At least...

Clinton was President ONLY because of Ross Perot.

If not for Ross Perot, the rapist and lying punk from Arkansas would have remained the rapist and lying punk from Arkansas.

Is not your question like asking which was your best cold in the last 20 years.

After Reagan none of the presidents have been particularly good.

I would argue, after Eisenhower, none have really stood out. Of those, only Clinton pasts muster as a president. Doesn't do too well on the personal front..

Clinton damaged the country more so then any other president, even Carter. His free trade agreements doomed the middle class. It was predicted and it happened. His lying under oath lowered the bar to where anything pretty much goes.

Reagan started NAFTA.

President Reagan's anti-union stance was a complete or at least an almost complete failure.

He left most of the blood suckers, the main cause of exporting jobs to overseas, the cancer on the economy who demand $10.00 of pay for $1.00 worth of labor, the unions, except for the air traffic controllers, untouched and intact.

On his worst day President Ronald Reagan was better than the current occupant of the White House. And Nancy's astrologists were far smarter than cellulite queen Michelle's "dieticians", at least, according to her giantific thighs and ass.

Nothing of fact has set in with you.
Bush helped create a lot of his own "crisis" with his firing of General Garner in favor of the crony Paul Bremer.
What about that Moe?
Need more?

What we were left with in Iraq after the Bush II was was worse than Hussein. He had the kook and crazy terrorists under control as the Baath party was a secular party.
Anyone that believes Iraq is a stable government now is bat shit crazy.

Anyone that believes Iraq is a stable government now is bat shit crazy.
Anyone who believes that Iraq is less stable or not less of a threat to its neighbors today is an ignoramus, in addition to being bat-shit crazy.

Many of the same people who espouse human rights are upset that Saddam was toppled. Go figure.

And all of their neighbors would be our friends?
LOL, sure, right.
How many of the Iraqi troops and police have we trained in Iraq over the last 10 years have turned their guns on American troops and killed them?
Some stability there Moe. Nice try.
As soon as we leave the mullahs will take over there as they are stooges of the Iranians and how will that work for you?

We now have Turkey correctly pointing to the instability of the current corrupt and Shia oriented Iraqi government taking their orders from Tehran and it's far reaching problems to the region and beyond.
The Turkish PM for many months ha been calling the Iraqi government "deeply in trouble" as they know that "the possible solidarity among Kurds, Turkmen and Arabs in Iraq will be a long term problem in Iraq and beyond"
"you break it, you own it" Colin Powell.
And he was right and Bush and his cronies were wrong.
