Your every little moody moment comprises 1000's of things that you're not aware that your subconscious mind is actually very aware of. The "intellectual" ego that you live inside which makes you want to level the playing field with me by saying none of "us" can see it...shows me that you are really acutely aware that that we all actually DO see it...and that you are afraid of that time that you come upon someone who truly is intellectually superior to you.No, and neither can you. You can describe it. But you cannot truly conceive of 1000 separate objects at once, and you never will.
And forget about 1,000,000.
Like I said, a crafty talking serpent should have been a dead giveaway that it should not be taken literally. That being said, who on earth at this time most resembles a direct descendant of that ever elusive talking serpent of old with legions of sycophants swarming all around him like flies swarming over a steaming pile of dog shit?My belief is influenced by the child-like stories said to be God’s literal word and by the fossil record. These things combine to tell me that what the Bible is could hardly be the literal word of God.
I agree. But I also know that the story of the creation of heaven and earth was never about the creation of the universe, the Big Bang, or the solar system, the earth, or the first plants animals and human beings..That being so, I still believe in a Creator because all of everything just popping into existence out of nothing strikes me as being absurd.
When Adam was told by God to name the animals he was giving names to human archetypes that by their attributes resembled animals in nature to either praise or insult like people have done ever since people could talk. It's quite true that credible science agrees with the Genesis creation account. I was referring to Darwin's macroevolution myth and the fact that the fossils record says it never happened while, on the other hand, credible science agrees with the creation account of living creatures.
Ugh. I already did that. "the Spirit of God HOVERED over the waters and said, "Let there be light."But since you want to go all the way back to where Jehovah said: "Let there be light," and you expect me to find puny scientists to confirm those events, keep waiting. Meanwhile, suppose you present evidence within this thread that the account at Genesis chapter 1 is NOT correct.
The origin of the universe and the story of the creation of heaven and earth are two different subjects.Don't waste my time with Big Bang theory aka Fairytale #1 in which space supposedly expands for reasons unknown. I've heard that nonsense at the dozens of websites where I've debated over the years, and not one single atheist has been able to tell me where the material came from that was part of the expanding space.
You may not be able to handle it which proves he is right. "There are limits to our hardware." there is only so much a human mind can grasp. And you are trying to convince someone YOU are intellectually superior? It is pointless to argue with those who were told fairy tales by their parents because they were told those things were true by their parents and so on. After centuries of that bullshit, it becomes part of the humans' genes and makeup to believe that a powerful entity described in a collection of musings by unknown people who feared death is true. Children very rarely challenge what their parents and elders tell them. Evolution mandates a belief in what tribal elders tell the young ones. You may not be able to handle it which proves he is right. Pssst! You can't win with a losing hand.
Yes, but when children are hungry and ask for an egg do the tribal elders give them a bowl of dog shit? I was told fairy tales as a child and I still believe they teach truth.
I have seen with my own eyes naughty boys who stay on Pleasure Island too long wearing donkey ears for life.
(Pinocchio 3:14)
Can I get a hee haw? An oink oink? A moo moo? A squeak squeak? A quack quack? An ooh ooh ahh ahh?
I agree that the Bible is teaching things but much more than morals and behaviors. If all those God fearing Jesus eating religiously addled believers understood the first lesson in the Bible they never would have elected a person who is the epitome of the talking serpent, the Nachash, in the story of Adam and Eve. Their very own fairy tale! That is what Jordan Peterson basically says if you can pin him down because he speaks in metaphors and vagaries. To him the Bible teaches some good morals and behaviors by using stories and allegory. He refused to say he was a Christian.
Are you referring to Trump or Biden?I agree that the Bible is teaching things but much more than morals and behaviors. In Hebrew the word for serpent, Nachash, is both a noun and an adjective meaning, serpent, brazen, shiny one, and/or someone who practices the magical arts, sorcery, what is now well known as brainwashing or mind control, the stars of the ancient world condemned by God in the fairy tale as the lowest of all lowlifes. Gen 3:14
I can't tell the difference between Trump or Putin. It could be a medusa, considering the slithering brood, or a two headed snake. Either way a freak of nature. Rotting corpses teeming with maggots prancing around like a king. Are you referring to Trump or Biden?
Nope.true if the question is asked.

Now that I think on it some more and have time to respond, I see you are describing the current crop of Democrats in leadership positions such as Ilhan Omar, AOC, Bowman, Hakeem, and scores of other avowed America haters in government who prance around like evil kings and queens and emperors during the times of nomadic tribes. Is this the "End Times" described in that good Holy book? Are the Democrat's serpents and devils come to prepare America for God's wrath?I can't tell the difference between Trump or Putin. It could be a medusa, considering the slithering brood, or a two headed snake. Either way a freak of nature. Rotting corpses teeming with maggots prancing around like a king.
C'mon now! This stuff was expected to be understood by the children of ancient Hebrew nomads. Try harder!
hobelim:When Adam was told by God to name the animals he was giving names to human archetypes that by their attributes resembled animals in nature to either praise or insult like people have done ever since people could talk.
Are you seriously saying that some unseen entity plopped down on earth fully formed humans and creatures?hobelim:
You're sounding more bizarre every time you post one of these crazy comments. Seriously.
Nowhere in the Bible is there any hint of evolution THEORY aka educated guesses in which one type of creature would be able to evolve into something entirely different from what it started off as. The Genesis creation account specifically states that every creature was created "according to its kind," meaning it was a specific type of creature that could never evolve into something other than what it started off as. It could only produce variations of itself up to a set point.
Genesis 1:20
Then God said: “Let the waters swarm with living creatures, and let flying creatures fly above the earth across the expanse of the heavens.”
Genesis 1:21
And God created the great sea creatures and all living creatures that move and swarm in the waters according to their kinds and every winged flying creature according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
Genesis 1:22
With that God blessed them, saying: “Be fruitful and become many and fill the waters of the sea, and let the flying creatures become many in the earth.”
Genesis 1:23
And there was evening and there was morning, a fifth day.
Genesis 1:24
Then God said: “Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds, domestic animals and creeping animals and wild animals of the earth according to their kinds.” And it was so.
Genesis 1:25
And God went on to make the wild animals of the earth according to their kinds and the domestic animals according to their kinds and all the creeping animals of the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.
Genesis 1:26
Then God said: “Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness, and let them have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and the domestic animals and all the earth and every creeping animal that is moving on the earth.”
That's why we have variations of birds, variations of dogs, variations of cats, etc. But they are never able to evolve into any other type of creature. Meanwhile, Darwin's evolution myth says every single creature in existence evolved from a single common ancestor. A complete fallacy, and the fossils record shows this has never happened.
Genesis 1:26
Then God said: “Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness, and let them have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and the domestic animals and all the earth and every creeping animal that is moving on the earth.”
Then they said, “Let us make life in our image, in our likeness, the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky the livestock and all the wild animals, and all the creatures that move along the ground.”
Don't be silly.Obama?
Don't be silly.
Even given his faults he does not compare at all to the characteristics displayed by trump that fit perfectly the description of the talking serpent
I am seriously saying that thats exactly what was reported in the Bible. Are you seriously saying that some unseen entity plopped down on earth fully formed humans and creatures?
