1 Corinthians 8:4-6
4 As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world,
and that there is none other God but one.
5 For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (
as there be gods many, and lords many,)
6
But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
To us who are on this earth and to all that are under the jurisdiction of God our Father in heaven,
He is our one and only God. But as Paul tells us above, there are gods many and lords many. I liken it unto the families on the earth. To each and everyone who is a child of a father, they only have one and only one father. But there are many fathers on the earth. In all of eternity, there are other Gods who have there own kingdom and children. Paul tells us there are gods many, and lords many

Paul tells us there are gods many, and lords many but to us there is but one God , the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. Yes, there are false gods in the world. But we believe that there are also other Gods in the eternities that have their own kingdoms. If Jesus teaches us to be perfect even as our Father in Heaven is perfect, this would mean that we can become just like our Father in Heaven. He will always be our God and Father in Heaven and will always retain that position throughout all eternity. Our exaltation to godhood only exalts his station even higher. As the offspring of God, we are all gods in embryo.
Psalms 82:6
6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.
Acts 17:28-29
28 For in him we
live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device.
When Jesus taught that he was the Son of God, the Jews sought to take his life because they thought it was blasphemy that Jesus say that he was the very Son of God. To this Jesus replied:
John 10:31-39
31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;
36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?
37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.
38 But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.
39 Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand,
Here we read that Jesus already considered us all to be gods. That coupled with the command to be perfect even as our Father in Heaven is perfect is biblical evidence that we are gods who can become as perfect as our Father in Heaven if we so choose to do so. We don't believe, however, that we will be the God over our God's kingdom. We would need to be given our own kingdoms. Not all of God's children will choose to become perfect even our Father in Heaven is perfect. Many are called but few are chosen.
