Although I despise Diznee, don't blame them on this Star Wars shit.

Blame Lucas. He sold the rights to them. He even admitted, after the first film they did under the Diznee name, was a HUGE mistake.

Lived in George Lucas' hometown when the original came out. I was not impressed beyond the special effects and sound. The story did not resonate with me. Never saw another.
