Where the hell is the dad in this new hot wheels commercial ?

Once again libtards shoving single mothers are fine down our throats ..

It's all in how you look at it. Are you threatened there isn't a dominant male presence?

I have made this complaint numerous times, the problem with kids we hire nowadays don't have problem solving skills, have trouble using tools.

Ya know in another forum this crazy libtard woman poster told me with a straight face, liberals have not promoted single motherhood the past 40 plus years..

They haven't "promoted" anything of the kind nor does that commercial promote single motherhood. It promotes the idea that cars aren't just for boys. My granddaughter, who just turned 2 has the best collection of Hot Wheels ever.

Getting back to your original idea that liberals have "promoted" single motherhood, that's not true at all. They have simply said that there are all kinds of families, and that those of us who are raised by single mothers aren't to be looked down on because of it.

My father died when I was eleven. What was my mother supposed to do? Maybe she should have gone out bar hopping for a new husband so I would have a two parent family like my friend's mother. Her stepdad tried to rape her when she was 13.

The divorce rate in North America is over 50%. That means that most kids are being raised by single parents at some point. Maybe if men took being married more seriously, and didn't walk out on their wives and children, there'd be fewer single mothers for you to rag on about.

Get out of here so you are going to be like that other poster and tell me that liberals have not been promoting single motherhood since the 1970s?

Bright side of that single mothers deserve more praise, bear; could be a message some brats whose mothers that worked their asses of to raise them in a decent environment without help from an original deadbeat dad could be more appreciative than they are.

That's not the point in my argument, it's all about the hidden message ....how many commercials you see a family of four sitting around the dinner table...a dad a mom and kids ..

It's always just moms and children

Not me. He's at work so she can fulfill her proper role.

My dad was a little to busy to be bothered, and I understand that unlike some of you. My father was gone when I woke up in the morning (7AM) and came home minutes before dinner (430pm), ate, took a shower , had a couple of hours with us, then slept. then, rise wash repeat.

This baby boomer sees thing differently. The commercial takes me back to when moms stayed at home and tried their best to keep kids from killing each other and out of all sorts of trouble while dad's were off working. Plus my dad had a large territory to cover as he sold milling machines to car plants and other manufacturers. He'd put 60,000 miles on his company car each year and was usually out of town a couple nights per week. Mom picked up the slack raising us 4 boys. I don't see how working moms cope these days.

I agree, bear, we sure don't see many family settings in advertising, movies, etc...there is a lot of trash out there IMO but then we rarely had TV in our house when the children were growing up. If there was something worth watching we actually went to grandma and grandpa's house that included family dinner with the children's great grandmother there too. How many families are actually watching those ads may be a question to ask. Also, are there any ad agencies that are more family oriented out there now? If so how many ad agencies can a person find that targets families as much as or more than diversity? Do the families turn off the advertising commercials and venues like that which use the media for propaganda that is not family oriented? We did. I just refused to replace the old tv we were given and for ten years never even considered replacing it.

It pisses me off, I like the old days so much better

To be clear I am not trying to trash single mothers..my complaint is promoting it as a healthy lifestyle and to tell me with a straight face the MSM has not been promoting it with a straight face over the past 40 years is preposterous.

Single mothers do the best they can and I applaud them but to me it's getting ridiculous in the media

I actually get your point and agree. They never show complete families these days. I think there are a lot of reasons they're taking dad out of the picture. They would do well to encourage the ideal and quit pandering to the less than ideal.

Since I don't know your age it could be a generational thing. My role in raising my sons (youngest is now 30) was much different than my dad's involvement in the raising of me and my brothers. Thus I can see how there could be different interpretations.

I can also imagine that if this commercial was played in the 1970's, it might have drawn complaints from liberals that it stereotyped the woman's role in being primarily responsible for raising children.

I see nothing wrong here.

I never remember my mom playing hot wheels with me except yelling " clean up your room " ..and my dad coming home and tossing around the football or baseball after his work.

Some of us weren't as lucky as you to have Dad available.

My Dad left for work about a half hour before I got up for school, He worked two jobs most of the time and usually got home just after midnight. On the weekends we worked my grandmother's farm.

When my kids were growing up, they had to deal with a Dad who deployed across to the other side of the world three times, fought a war, and then spent months doing counter-drug ops and babysitting Haiti for months on end. My son was 8 years old before I ever took him trick or treating on Halloween.

Where is Dad?

In jail most likely.

These commercials are pitched to the popular culture which is sick, decadent and dying.

Fuck Hot Wheels.

Military families pay a high price for family members being in the services, especially parents.

Thank you for your service.

A sure sign of that sickness is you getting bent out of shape about a Hot Wheels commercial.
No, getting bent out of shape is when you think you can dictate what I think and over-react like you have.

Not getting bent out of shape is me not giving a flying fuck what you think about my opinions if you cant back your opinion up.
