Where is the women in combat?

I would guess and this is strictly opinion - that a high percentage of the girls killed grew up watching Xena the princess warrior, wonder woman or batgirl ... I would also venture to speculate that a equal percentage never thought they would be put into a combat situation. .... If you wanna play with the boys - draw equal pay and extract equal valor there's a price to pay.

Exactly. Thsts why I'm in favor of separated education for girls and why no daughter of mine would ever be watching thst sort of stuff... Barbies and Easy Bake ovens.

139 Female Soldiers Have Died in Iraq and Afghanistan -- More than 800 female service members have been wounded

1000 women, give or take, wounded or killed because mommy gave them a GI JOE instead of a Barbie. I wonder if those parents might now want to go back and fix their mistake

"girls"? OMIGOD we've got girls fighting because the boys/men won't?

Women can't carry a fully-loaded backpack and can't carry wounded men to safety. This much is known.

Also, women are less likely to endure the stress of combat because they are more emotional than men.

Also, women create fiction within a combat unit because of the sex issue.

Who said they couldn't?

My daughter is 5 foot 8 and weighs about 150. I have personally seen her carry men that approach 200 pounds. She started training for that in high school.

And, yes, she carries her own backpack. I watched new male ROTC cadets struggling, while she glided past them. She was the only female to pass her initial APFT. With more PT, the women outpaced the men in many areas.

I have heard this argument years ago. My girlfriends best friend was a nationally ranked shooter, was 5' 8" and 160 lbs- with medical training.

Presuming that she could pass the same physical requirements as male recruits- why would you prefer a man who had only the minimum riflelry skills over a woman who was a nationally ranked markswoman as part of your combat team?

I don't know of anyone who believes that anyone should get a pass from the physical requirements- but those who whine that women just can't cut it- frankly just don't believe women are tough.

Clearly they have never known many women.

Every woman who dies in a war is also the death of all her unborn children. The death of a man is the death of the sperm in his nutsack. We cannot afford to lose millions of women if there is ever an all-out war. We can easily bounce back from the death of millions of men, but not the death of millions of women.

You are such a misogynistic idiot.

You really need to get employed again and find a real hobby and maybe a real woman to be involved with.

Marines congratulate first female infantry officer graduate

After multiple failed candidates, the Marines finally have ONE female Marine infantry officer.

Well, I hope all the bother was worth it.

She will have to order some lowly private to carry her backpack, of course, and if one of her men gets shot next to her, she will not be able to carry him to safety.

But hey, political correctness is way more important than military concerns like winning battles.

And how do you know this about this individual? you're a douchebag

Holy crap! You've gone off the rails! Talk about "The Maiden's Tale" material...........

You serve your country by being a sperm receptacle, missy. Back to the kitchen, Rosie the Riveter.

Hate to rain on the parades of people who think that a woman can physically do what a man can do, but how often do you see a woman do a man's job like carpenter or electrician or laborer in the real world where time is money? Ain't gonna happen. Well, there are those one in a thousand exceptions, but those are exceptions.

To a certain extent you are right. In civilian trades however they should have the right to compete on a LEVEL PLAYING FIELD .... no privileges equal pay for equal work. That doesn't mean you stand there holding a flag or sign while the guys bust their butts. In the military they are generally given the safe jobs away from the front line but expect equal pay and equal valor - doesn't work like that .

My daughter is a cavalry officer. She does the exact same job as the men. On convoys, she is in just as much danger as the rest of the unit, except she is in charge.

By the same account, not all men can serve in the military to standard. As a young Lieutenant, I had to have a soldier reclassified because he couldn't pick up the 94lb shell we fired from the cannon. So your argument there is flawed.

Now do you really believe there are as many men who can't pick up an object of a certain weight as there are women who can't pick up that weight? When it comes to the military why not hire the best and have the men do men's work and women doing women's work? Used to be that way. Waves, Wacs. WM's etc. Look it up sometime, back when men were men, women were women, and people knew there was a difference. In the meantime, go visit a gym sometime and compare the weights that men lift compared to what the women lift.

Why prevent women who can do the work from doing so? If it's only 1 in a thousand, so what? Let the few that can do it, do it. :dunno:

Some of us who served don't see the need to go through life pounding our chests over it ...
