When was war declared against Venezuela?

Do they kill themselves for 70 virgins too? How many suicide bombings by the Cartels are based on a religious ideology? 0. I don't think there are many SBer's in that business.......

The ideology of the cartels is purely profit driven, not Prophet driven.
Aww poor boo..... :itsok:

They believe their religious zealotry will protect them.

AUMF is still law.

Boat Suspected of Smuggling Drugs Is Said to Have Turned Before U.S. Attacked It

The Trump administration has argued that the summary killing of 11 people it accused of running drugs was legal under the laws of war.

A Venezuelan boat that the U.S. military destroyed in the Caribbean last week had altered its course and appeared to have turned around before the attack started because the people onboard had apparently spotted a military aircraft stalking it, according to American officials familiar with the matter.

The military repeatedly hit the vessel before it sank, the officials added, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive matter. The administration has claimed the boat was carrying drugs.

The disclosures provide new details about an operation that was a startling departure from traditional drug interdiction efforts, escalating President Trump’s use of the military for matters typically handled by law enforcement. Legal specialists have disputed that it was lawful for the military, on President Trump’s orders, to target and kill drug smuggling suspects as if they were combatants in a war.

Does declaring war against drug smugglers mean we can bomb people in Mexico? Importantly, where is the hard evidence the trump government made about the boat and the people in it?

Vitally, have the Repub's in Congress scheduled hearings on the matter of the government's claimed justification? If not why not?

Anyone trying to bring drugs in to distribute and destroy lives. Yeah, light em up.

I'd be concerned about the possibility of the Venezuela cartel shooting down an American passenger international flight to get even. It's bad enough taking to the sky with our FAA folks not being paid.

I'd expect something on the ground here. Strike at Him or His administration.

LOL. They truly do have an illegitimate president and Biden and the Democrats use the strongest possible language in denouncing the government there as being illegitimate. Trump is actually doing something about it instead of using the strongest possible language and the real leaders of Venezuela approve of Trump for actually standing up for democracy.

Because Congress gave approval previously.

On designated terrorist organizations.

I don't think anyone in antifa could start an outboard motor.

Top admiral’s retirement sets off alarm bells over Caribbean boat strikes

The abrupt retirement of the four-star Navy admiral overseeing the U.S. military’s strikes against boats in the Caribbean is raising alarms as to the validity of the attacks and the Trump administration’s broader plans in the region.

In a surprise move, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Thursday announced that U.S. Southern Command (Southcom) head Adm. Alvin Holsey would step down at the end of the year, two years ahead of schedule. Southcom oversees all operations in Central and South America, and multiple outlets have reported that Holsey and Hegseth were at odds over the U.S. mission in the Caribbean.

Holsey’s unexpected departure, set for Dec. 12, means Southcom is without its top military commander at a time when the Trump administration is building up U.S. forces in the Caribbean and increasingly targeting vessels off the Venezuelan coast it says are transporting drugs — most recently on Thursday — escalating a standoff with the government of President Nicolás Maduro.

“Everything we’re seeing is setting off alarm bells,” said Brian Finucane, a national security lawyer with the International Crisis Group, an organization focused on conflict resolution. “The military buildup in the Caribbean, these lawless strikes on vessels there … the administration talking about potential action in Venezuela. None of this is being undertaken with congressional authorization.”

Ecuador releases survivor of US strike on 'drug sub' in Caribbean

The Senators continued, “On issues of national security, our top priorities are protecting Americans, American interests, and our servicemembers who put their lives on the line every day.”

“In the interest of ensuring that Congress’s response to this unprecedented step is consistent with these priorities, we assert that Congress made no declaration of war nor did it authorize the use of military force for future similar operations,” the Senators concluded. “Classifying a clear law enforcement mission as counterterrorism does not confer legal authority to target and kill civilians.”

If the people targeted in these illegal attacks represent a threat to the national security of the country why were two who survived an attack release to their home countries? My guess is because the kind of military tribunal the US would have conducted if the men were held would have given them a chance to defend themselves. As things stand now the US has presented zero evidence to Congress justifying the killings.

President Trump said on Thursday that he would bypass Congress rather than seek its approval to carry out military strikes against drug cartels that traffic narcotics to the United States, even as he vowed to expand the operation from attacks at sea to targets on land.

“I don’t think we’re going to necessarily ask for a declaration of war,” Mr. Trump told reporters of his campaign of deadly strikes against vessels in the Caribbean Sea near Colombia and Venezuela. “I think we are going to kill people that are bringing drugs into our country, OK? We are going to kill them, you know? They are going to be like, dead.”

Clearly he'd rather go on killing people without the legal right to do so while not providing anyone with evidence the killings are justified or the people being murdered are guilty of anything.

Show where He doesn't have a legal right to do so.
