It is unlikely that a great number of the poor and blacks were given the option of getting out the service, because they either never heard of such option, didn't question their call to duty, etc.

Try debating, in order to do this there has to be two views, I gave mine and no one so far has given me their views ie an analysis, therefore there isn't any two sides. Intellect is the head-knowledge......but without wisdom it can be so destructive or constructive. It's a toss-up without wisdom being exercised.

Wisdom in my estimation is taking that head knowledge and using it correctly, positively, and humanely. It considering the best possible interest to all possible parties.

I feel as though wisdom is the software that takes the knowledge and appropriates it in the right way, ethically, and or morally.

Concerning the Fundies.......of which I would probably be thrown in, yet I would have to say that I'm would want to put some of my disclaimers on that moniker for myself.........I think that there is a funny dicotomy with those that don't see terrorism from these extremist Muslims, yet have absolute panic attacks over being evangelized at the door by a "dangerous" bible thumper.

Also they have this inordinate fear of old Pat Robertson that he's going to instigate/propogate an American Theocracy. I don't agree completely, with the guy from a biblical angle, and also think that his "Christian America" dream is Quixotic dreaming. I don't think Jesus was pushing for this either. If there was going to be a Christian earth, it would happen along the lines of Revelation...........and not Pat Robertson.

I do however think that Christians shouldn't avoid involvement in politics, as I believe that they do have a buffering and holding-action affect, against the totally humanist, and secular influence of many candidates and current elected leaders. Without some ethics from Christian office holders, I think our country would be extremely different, in a very negative way, as compared to what it currently is.

All 50,000 names were white boys and black boys........poor and rich..............College kids whose 2-S deferments were dropped because they flunked a class, and had to report. Doctors, attorneys, dentists, carpenters, airline pilots, janitors, garbagemen, engineers, were drafted..........nothing exempted you except keeping a good grade average in College as a full-time student, or running off to Canada, or a 4-f deferment because of health limitations.
