I had surgery on my foot, on the bone and on the nerves. The doctor refused to prescribe anything at all. Not even the mildest pain killer. That's when you just white knuckle through. That was an INCREDIBLE amount of pain. In the last year, I have had five surgeries on that same foot and not a single pain pill.
