Whatever Happened To That Obamacare Replacement?

When the Affordable Care Act passed, health care spending was 17.2% of GDP. Today it's. . . 17.5% of GDP.
False.

We never did see that Obamacare replacement the GOP and then Donald Trump promised us they had. Trump's was "terrific". It was swell. It was the best health care plan ever. You were going to get tired of being so healthy.

While Obama was President, the Republican House partially or fully repealed Obamacare more than 60 times!

And yet, strangely, when they had full control of both houses of Congress, and the White House, there were no more repeals!

Hmmmm...

They had a partial repeal, with no replacement, which passed the House while Trump was president, and Trump held a prematurely ejaculatory celebration on the White House lawn. But then John McCain spoiled the whole thing with a thumbs down since it was all a hoax and did not actually replace Obamacare.

There's a way you can always tell when Trump is lying. He repeats the lie three times. Like this:

“Make no mistake,” (one!) the president said at one point, this is a repeal and a replace of Obamacare, make no mistake (two!) about it. Make no mistake.”(three!)

Since then, the organization formerly known as the Republican Party has failed to cough up a replacement for Obamacare.

You see, folks, if you want to win, you have to have better ideas than your opposition.

That's the key to long term success.

The real evilness is that the GOP told you they did have a better idea. But they didn't. They wanted you to bleev what turned out to be a total hoax.

And you never held them accountable. That's why they lie to you.

You never hold Trump accountable. That's why HE lies to you.

Guess what the number one issue on the minds of Americans is?

Health care costs.

This has been at or near the top of the list for DECADES. And the GOP has come up with NOTHING in all that time.

The organization formerly known as the Republican Party is now the party of, "LOOK! SQUIRREL!"

Nothing but pointless and hateful distractions to keep you from focusing on their total incompetence.

When will you finally, finally, finally start holding them accountable?

What? It is Democrats who said they wanted to replace Obamacare with Medicare for all. What happened to that? I'll tell you what happened to that. Wokeism. Being woke is more important than fighting for Medicare for all. Giving young children tranny surgeries is more important than Medicare for all.

False.

This isn't 2021. The infusion of pandemic money into the health care system has receded. We're back down to 17.5% of GDP, where we were over a decade ago. Other than a brief and transient COVID-induced spike in spending on health care, health care costs have barely budged since the ACA passed.

Don't care, I have the same coverage that the congress-critters have.....There's a reason congress exempted themselves and .gov workers from it. ;)

The bottom-feeders can have what's left of Halfrican Care.....Enjoy.
Humble brag?

We turned health care from medicine into a business. It does not matter as the costs will keep rising. At some point medical care will be rationed and operations will become politicized as who does and does not get them from each group. Republicans are taking the hit for any solution. However, Progs are the ones who are pushing it behind the scenes.
You realize that the individual mandate, which requires people to purchase health insurance was a republican plan right?

Originally, Obama care was going to expand Medicare into a public option insurance that that covered anyone who could afford private insurance. It would have been paid for by raising the taxable income cap for FICA. Right now, you only pay FICA on the first $250,000 you earn. Obama wanted to raise it to $10,000,000.

If you couldn't afford private coverage or had coverage gaps, you could apply for public health insurance. If you could afford it and chose not to buy it, you were on your own.

Don't you worry. We will see government health care for all before you see a Republican free market plan.

Way before. Way, way, way before.

In fact, you will NEVER see a Republican free market plan.

Remember, health care is the number one issue for Americans.

Not trannies. Not abortions. Not guns. Not even illegal Mexicans.

Did you look at the health insurance costs since 2010?

Try telling Americans that nothing has changed since then.

And try to ignore they see it as the number one problem.

Not so humble.....Flaunt it if you got it.

But it does go to show one thing.....You don't see The Halfrican or any of the congress critters still around that voted for it saddle themselves with it do you.

It's like, you know, they were better than the great unwashed. I for one am glad for that. ;)
Are you saying this as one of the unwashed, or one of the betters?

Did you look at the health insurance costs since 2010?

Sure. According to the annual KFF/HRET survey of employer benefits, the average worker's contribution to a family premium in 2010 was $3,997 in 2010 and $6,106 in 2022.

Of course, income also grew over that period. Personal income per capita grew from $40,649 to $65,280 between 2010 and 2022.

Meaning that the average employee contribution to an employer-based family premium was 10% of per capita income in 2010 and 9% of per capita income in 2022.

Try telling Americans that nothing has changed since then.

And try to ignore they see it as the number one problem.

If something changed, the numbers I just quoted suggest it's a story of widening income inequality, not that health care costs grew out of control. Because, again, health care has--astonishingly--not gotten more unaffordable for society than it was in 2010.

But given all the distributional effects of who pays for health care and how and who actually captures society's income, that doesn't mean that the story for an individual person (even the average person, perhaps) hasn't gotten worse. But if so, that hasn't really been a health care story, the post-ACA world has seen the slowest health care cost growth ever. If it's the case that the average person is spending more of their income on health care, it's because the average person is not sharing in the growth of income the U.S. has experienced.

The health system needed a concise plan. Perhaps starting with different levels of medical care. Thes things start, and they do get scrapped once entrenched. It is clear the medical industry is corrupted. Government involvement should be of help, yet the prices have risen astronomically due to the government tit. We are a nation of many groups with the potential for lawsuits when the eventual medical care controlled from government starts rationing at some future date. Progs have made comments on medical limitations over the years although Republicans take the flack.

Your side isn't even talking about it. They're too busy wanting to chop of young boy's penises.
