In Serbian discussions, they did say its germany who was mostly behind it, of course germany is the biggest nation in europe and their foreign policy is much stronger then serbian, germany has many powerful allies like the USA and France. Serbia has china and russia, but Germany is stronger. German media even celebrates it as "powerful victory of germany and defeat of serbia". Why is Germany a Serb-hater?

Interesting is that Srebrenica is "the only massacer declared a genocide" Im sure somewhat similar massacres occured often including by germans in africa for example which are not condemned as genocides world wide, maybe also by the USA in vietnam or korea or something. Im sure.

SARAJEVO taz | The broadcast of the UN General Assembly was public in Sarajevo. When it was announced that July 11 would be declared a global day of remembrance for the 1995 Srebrenica genocide, the crowd clapped with relief.

In New York, 84 members spoke out in favor of introducing the day of remembrance, which should be celebrated annually in the future. 19 countries were against it, 68 abstained. In a first statement, the Croatian member of the three-member State Presidium Zeljko Komsic said: “Bosnia and Herzegovina is emerging from all this stronger, and that is the most important thing, because a strong Bosnia and Herzegovina is the only guarantee that the genocide will not be repeated can."

In the only massacre classified as genocide by international and national courts after the Second World War, which went down in European history as the largest war crime since 1945, at least 8,000 mainly male and predominantly Bosnian Muslims were murdered in and around Srebrenica. The massacre was the bloody climax of the Bosnian War; Bosnian Serb militias, which were militarily supported by Serbia, were the perpetrators, according to contemporary witnesses and according to the verdicts of the UN tribunal against war criminals.

However, the resolution presented by Germany and Rwanda did not name Serbia as a culprit. “Our initiative is about honoring the memory of the victims and supporting the survivors who continue to live with the scars of this fateful time,” said German UN Ambassador Antje Leendertse. But that didn't stop Milorad Dodik, the president of the Serbian state in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic from sharply criticizing Germany. They accused Berlin of not talking about the crimes of the Holocaust, but the decision is now opening wounds and will cause chaos in the Balkans.

The resolution “unconditionally condemns any denial of the Srebrenica genocide as a historical event” and actions that glorify those “convicted by international courts of war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide,” its supporters counter. The day is scheduled to be officially celebrated for the first time in 2025. 84 of 193 UN members voted for the text, including almost all EU members, most of the Balkan states, Turkey and even Montenegro, the USA, Canada, Chile and Australia, as well as Iraq and Iran.

However, the result remained below expectations. There were at least 19 votes against in the vote. In addition to Serbia, China, Belarus, North Korea and Russia, Hungary was also the only EU country to vote against the text. 68 countries abstained, including the EU members Greece, Cyprus, Slovakia, but surprisingly also Muslim-dominated countries such as the Emirates, Oman, Algeria, Lebanon, many African countries such as Ethiopia and Uganda, as well as Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and India.

With this vote, German foreign policy has achieved a respectable success. Serbia suffered a defeat, but has the largest states in the world behind it.

srebrenica happened but it was a mass shooting the only mass shooting declared a genocide, i mean you could by that definition declare many genocides recently a muslim shot 500 russian civilians in a mall in a terrorist attack could be by this definition considered a genocide, even more so because he also shot women mladic seperated women and children from military age men, who might have been even part of armed forces and attacked serb villages around srebrenica before, im not saying all were or it was a good thing, even captured soldiers shouldnt be killed and it would be a war crime by international law, but it is a very loose definition of genocide, and now world wide remembrance there is no world wide remembrance for the armenian genocide done by turkey or the various genocides and mass shootings killings, done by european colonial empires around the world including germany

Im just saying the truth you seem to imply that you have to lie if its against serbs or russians, that if its russians or serbs that you have to hate them and do something against them no matter what whether its the truth or not

The July 1995 massacre was carried out by Bosnian Serb forces to eliminate 8,000 military-age men between 18-60, while women, children and elderly men were spared. It is comparably smaller in significance than the Rwandan genocide, by which around 800,000 civilians were killed indiscriminately. There was no intent to destroy an entire ethnic group to fit the definition of genocide.
