• Trump didn't censor, he was censored-- the reason he created Truth Social.

Truth Social censors.

• Trump didn't shadow ban people in social media, Biden did, Facebook did, and Twitter did, at Biden's request, the reason we have X now.

All of those are private entities, like Truth Social, they can censor whom they please. What Biden’s task force did is no different than what other presidents have done. They can request but not force. Unlike Trump who actively threatened them with retaliation.

• Trump didn't block people from discussing Covid or election interference, Biden did.

Those companies are private entities they make their own policies, not Biden. The Supreme Court ruled on that.

What has Trump banned and censored on Truth Social? How about Musk on X? Why do you only care if you view it as Biden’s doing? Trump has repeatedly threatened the media and social media platforms with retaliation if he was elected, what about that?

In fairness to Harris, she was given only few months to prepare a campaign, craft a message and sell herself. Compare that to Trump. But…it does remind me of something else, and that is the importance of protecting free media and journalists. Every administration is guilty of attempting to restrict it or force journalists to reveal their sources - Obama, Bush, Trump, Biden, etc.

This law was ready to be passed with bipartisan support, until Trump tanked it. You can’t have free speech without a free and independent media to protect it and hold the government accountable.

I can only take this one item at a time, but I just found out that our own government is letting people whose identity they aren't aware of, and are not in the country legally, fly on U.S. commercial airlines without having to provide photo ID (thanks to member EvilCat Breath).

So they have this whole explanation of how they can ensure they know who they are, by comparing "who they say they are" in an ICE database to "who they say they are" in a DHS database, but the bottom line is, unless I missed something in what I read, they let people who come into the country unlawfully, tell them (our government agents) who they are, without any documentation or proof, just their word.

I got turned away when trying to get an Enhanced ID before the deadline because my birth certificate had a crease in and it and the agent claimed they couldn't read my name properly, Never mind that I'm already in their system with a regular ID with my photo on it, they wouldn't except my credentials but they'll accept a notice to appear from someone who is not legally here, without ever being able to determine if the person that notice was issued to is the same person who is now using it to board a plane. Or get an enhanced ID from the state government.

There has been talk of closing the border for as long as I can remember. Trump an opportunity to do it during his first term but neglected to do so.

So let's say they actually close the border. How will anyone know if they are successful? What will that measure be?

And why should we as American citizens be held to a higher standard/more scrutiny than people who our government really doesn't know who they are?
