Sadly I'd not get many as I would be too careful putting them in the cart.

20 years ago I would say a jewelry or coin shop but since all the smash and grabs their more expensive pieces are just dummies.

Most realty offices keep the deeds for the real estate they sell at their lawyers offices.
Private real estate companies may keep their own deeds to the properties they are selling, but commerical real estate agents keep their deeds at their lawyers office.

If that is true, why have I never seen a deed to the properties that I bought or sold except in the title office where it is recorded?

That stuff is all heinously overpriced. You'd never get retail prices for any of it.
