Found money - do you keep it or return it?

And if you knew who lost it. Otherwise, you're just giving it away. That's not a bad thing to do, but it's not the same as returning it to its rightful owner.

Most of the times I have found money, there was no way to figure out who lost it. Years ago, I did find a wallet with almost a thousand bucks in it. James and I were poor and we drooled. She was a sweet lil ole lady that tried to give us an award.

My inner voice would hound me if I kept it, for any reason or excuse. There is no way I could rationalize keeping it. Even if I just turned it into a manager and they kept it, there would be no guilt I would take to bed with me that night. I would do the very same as OhPleaseJustQuit would do. "I do my best to return it. If I can't return it, I give it to the local food bank, or some such thing."
