I didn't opt for voting for the death penalty in voting choice option. The reason was that it was not premeditated and I would prefer the attacker rot in prison for life with no parole. Sadly, what they will do is what almost always happens, the state, not wanting the expense of an entire trial, will offer a plea deal and the a**hole could end up with as little as 15 years for his violent action.

We have here a story invlving Trump supporter(s) and violence, where the patriotism of the victim is highlighted, but where the patriotism of the assailant is buried.

One dangerous problem is FOX News Outlet (Local?), calling the assailant, who is a neighbor, a "stranger" (STRANGER DANGER NARRATIVE for ADULTS in MAGA?). This feeds paranoia and feelings of victimhood.

We know the Language that is acceptable in MAGA Circles would once have been viewed as extremist and not representative of of the whole, but... see image below, the type Dante saw all over the western states during his travels through Trump country in 2019/2020/2022

Prosecutors allege 32-year-old Thomas Caleb Butler attacked Sheron in what officials described as an unprovoked assault.

My heart won't stop feeling this heaviness caused by the death of someone I never met. We will be offering Masses for Kerry Sheron at my church, and I wish there was a way we could comfort his wife.

The only comfort I get comes from seeing the photo of Sheron receiving last rites, and my knowing that he's in Heaven with the One God now.

If ending the life that stole his will help us find some balance, I have to say that I'm for it.
