Legal immigration

Too much government spending creates inflation....so everything costs more
BUT
Personal income does NOT match inflation.
A day's wages once was 3.75% of the cost of a new car. Today the same skill level wages is 0.4% of the price of a new car.
That happened in 70 years time. Several bouts of inflation makes that happen.

Government overspending destroys your ability to earn a decent living.

That is the conservative philosophy.

My father had a HS education and got a union job.
He was able to support a family of six on just one salary.
He sent four kids to college without going into debt. He had good healthcare, bought a three bedroom house, we took vacations and he retired at 62.

What changed?
We listened to Conservatives and embraced Supply Side Economics. Give money to the wealthy and prosperity will trickle down in good paying jobs.
Instead, pay went stagnant, benefits decreased, families needed two wage earners

That's simply ridiculous....I grew up in a Union city, (Lansing Mi)...I had many friends that were UAW. I was also, in the Teamsters myself when I drove for Pepsi....I saw it first hand.

Maybe when they first were created, but as they went on, they became corrupt. skimming pension funds, glad handing management, and not giving a shit about the people they were supposed to represent, that's what I saw...

Nope....not accurate. Corporate wages have not been restricted. They pay market rates. Profits have been mostly static for those making good choices as international exchanges have ensured they do.
